Abstract

This study aimed to describe the diversity of plants found in Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park. The analysis of plant diversity was carried out by applying the quadratic method. Twenty-five squares were constructed for sampling. The results showed that there were thirty two (32) plant tribes consisting of 256 individuals in the exposed area and 899 individuals in the burial area. Data on plant diversity were then mapped to be correlated with Basic Competence (BC) at each level of the educational unit. Mapping results showed, there are 6 BC at the elementary school level; 5 BC at the junior high school level; and 7 basic competencies at high school level that can be learned by utilizing information on plant diversity of Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the existence of plant diversity in Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park has the potential to support the achievement of the objectives of the national curriculum.

Abstract

Abstract: Metacognitive Awareness Based on Gender in Conceptual Change Learning Assisted Android Mobile-learning on the Topic of the Human Reproductive System. This study aims to describe the level of metacognitive awareness of male and female students in conceptual change learning on the topic of the human reproductive system, the relationship between knowledge about cognition and cognitive regulation. The research subjects were students of class XI at a high school in Bandar Lampung. The instrument used to collect data is a metacognitive awareness questionnaire developed by Schraw Dennison (1996). The results of the study show that male and female students are dominantly at the level of "developing" metacognitive awareness in the sense that they can be helped towards awareness of thinking for themselves if they are inspired or supported. This study also revealed that girls are more dominant in their minds-on, while male students tend to be more hands-on. Each knowledge about cognition and regulation of cognition has a strong relationship, both in male and female students. Through this research, it appears that conceptual change learning facilitates male and female students to identify and revise concepts that develop in society related to the human reproductive system to become scientifically correct. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v11.i1.27135

Abstract

Critical  thinking  is  one  of  the  skills  that  must  be  possessed  by  21st  century students.  One  of  the  efforts  developed  by  the  Indonesian  government  is  to mandate teachers to use a scientific approach in the learning process. In line with the development of information and communication technology in the world, it is  recommended  that  the  implementation  of  learning  be  implemented  using  a hybrid learning method. The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness ofscientific  liveworksheets  and  gender  in  honing  students'  critical  thinking skills.  There  were  59  students  who  were  used  as  samples  and  consisted  of  25 students and 34 students with the topic of learning the interaction of living things with their environment. The pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design was used to support the quasi-experimental research method. Data were collected by means of critical thinking  skills  tests, questionnaires on  the  implementation of the learning stages, and response questionnaires. All data were then analyzed by ANCOVA test.  The results show that the  scientific live  worksheet causes a significant  improvement  in  students'  critical  thinking  skills.  Another  finding  is that there is no difference in the achievement ofcritical thinking skills in male and female students. The students are facilitated in a balanced way by following the  stages  of  learning  in  the  scientific  liveworksheet  through  their  respective devices.  Based  on  these  findings,  it  is  suggested  that  the  use  of  scientific liveworksheets be encouraged to develop the critical thinking skills of male and female students in the industrial era 4.0.Keywords: liveworksheet scientific, critical thinking, genderBerpikir  kritis  adalah  salah  satu  kemampuan  yang  harus  dimiliki  oleh  siswa abad  21.
