The victory of Islam in Egypt became something pautu to be proud of, because it has become a mecca of knowledge for other countries. Efforts to trace the history of Islamic education can stimulate the condition of Islamic education. The fall of Islam in Egypt became one of the factors driving Islamic scholars to act. Therefore, this paper will describe the history of Islamic education in Egypt. This paper is compiled in accordance with the data obtained in the form of library materials (library research) using descriptive-historical methods. Based on the study in this paper, it was obtained the development of Islamic civilization in Egypt and the decline experienced by Muslims in Egypt to move the hearts of Islamic thinkers.

Abstract

The human development index is an indicator to measure the quality of people's lives. If the human development index number increases, the better the quality of people's lives. There are many factors or variables that affect the level of the human development index, ranging from economic issues, education, health and other factors. However, not all factors have a positive and significant effect. Thus, this study aims to determine the factors that significantly affect the human development index in South Sulawesi. The method used in this study is principal component regression which involves many variables. The variables involved are expected length of schooling, average length of schooling, percentage of population with the highest Diploma, Bachelor and Masters education, school enrollment rate for people aged 7-24 years, percentage of poor people, spending per capita, and life expectancy. From the results of data processing using principal component analysis, 4 main components are obtained which represent the other components, for principal component regression, taking into account the cumulative proportion of > 80%. The results of this study indicate that the human development index in South Sulawesi is influenced by all the variables involved, which is equal to 95.7%. With the variable percentage of poverty being one of the variables that has a negative effect on HDI in South Sulawesi which shows that the higher the percentage of poverty, the lower the human development index. Thus, in order to increase the human development index in Indonesia, it is necessary to take strategic steps to improve people's welfare.

Abstract

Students' mathematical understanding ability at SMA Muhammadiyah Makassar is in the low category. This is based on the results of preliminary observations that researchers conducted at the school, students were unable to relate new material to previous material that had been learned. This is also indicated by the low test scores of class X students, namely with an average below the KKM score. An alternative is needed to choose the right learning model, one of which is the Visual Auditory Kinesthetic (VAK) learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Visual Auditory Kinesthetic (VAK) type cooperative learning model on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of grade X students of SMA Muhammadiyah Makassar. The research approach used was a quantitative approach with the type of pre-experiment research and the research design was a one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample was determined using a random sampling technique (sample random sampling), namely not all populations were used as sample members. The population in this study were all students of class X SMA Muhammadiyah Makassar. The sample used in the study was social studies class students as many as 9 people. The research instrument is a questionnaire, pretest and posttest in which there are indicators of mathematical understanding. The tests used were in the form of descriptions. Research hypothesis testing using paired samples t-test on SPSS system. Based on the results of hypothesis testing with a significance level of
