Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of students' critical thinking skills in distance learning physics subjects using aspects of critical thinking skills according to Ennis. The method used is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The population in this study was all SMA/MA Tanjungbalai City. The research sample was taken by purposive sampling as many as 150 students of class X from 5 sample schools SMA/MA Tanjungbalai City. The research instrument is a test of critical thinking skills and a questionnaire. The critical thinking ability of SMA/MA students in Tanjungbalai City in the subject of straight-motion physics in distance learning is still low overall. The average test of students' critical thinking skills is 55,73 in the low category. With the average achievement of each aspect, namely 61,83 in the aspect of Elementary Clarification, 56,37 in the aspect of Basic Support, 53,60 in the aspect of Interference, 56,17 in the aspect of Advance Clarification, 50,67 in the aspect of Strategy and Tactics. Student responses to distance learning show that all respondents of SMA/MA Tanjungbalai On the aspect of access to the use of distance learning, students gave an average response of 70%, indicating that students still find it difficult to use the distance learning method applied. Understanding the material shows that learning occurs when 78% of students better understand the material in face-to-face learning, and 52% of students understand physical lessons through distance learning. The aspect of implementing distance learning shows that students' responses to the effectiveness of distance learning are weak, with an average response of 65%

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembelajaran dan proses penilaian literasi teknologi pada materi fluida yang dilakukan di sekolah MAN Binjai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode wawancara dan observasi. Wawancara dilakukan Bersama dengan 2 guru fisika untuk mengetahui pada fase pra pembelajaran, pembelajaran, dan evaluasi telah berbais literasi teknologi ataukah tidak. Metode observasi dilakukan dengan 4 analisis, yaitu analisis kurikulum dan ATP, analisis modul ajar, analisis tugas siswa, dan lembar observasi siswa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis literasi teknologi telah diterapkan di MAN Binjai, namun proses penilaian yang dilakukan belum mencakup penilaian berbasis literasi teknologi. Penilaian yang dilakukan tidak sesuai dengan standar penilaian yang ditetapkan ATP, sehingga terjadi ketidaksesuaian antara proses pembelajaran dengan evaluasi yang dilakukan.

Abstract

Air bersih sangat dibutuhkan masyarakat terutama warga di Desa Wonosari. Warga terus menggunakan air yang tidak sehat untuk kebutuhan rumah tangga karena keterbatasan pengetahuan, sarana, prasarana dan ekonomi,. Oleh karena itu, masyarakat sangat perlu diberi pengetahuan dan keterampilan pengolahan air bersih. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) dalam mengolah Air Bersih di Desa wonosari bertujuan untuk: 1) memberikan keterampilan dalam proses mengolah air bersih, 2). meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang air bersih. Tujuan tersebut dicapai dengan kegiatan pelatihan, dan penerapan teknologi tepat guna untuk mengolah air bersih. Hasil yang dicapai adalah: 1) mitra telah memiliki ketrampilan dalam mengolahan air bersih untuk rumah tangga 2) .meningkatnya pengetahuan mitra tentang pentinganya air bersih bagi Kesehatan

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of teaching skills of prospective physics teachers in Unimed Physics Education Study Program. The research method used is classroom action research method with Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model by applying project-based learning model in microteaching course. The research stages consist of planning, action, observation and reflection.  The research subjects were 2020 batch students who took microteaching courses in the even semester of 2022/2023 year academic as many as 10 people. This research consists of 3 cycles with 2 meetings in each cycle. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires, teaching skills assessment rubrics and learning observation sheets. Data collection was carried out by giving questionnaires and direct observation of learning activities carried out by prospective teacher students. Data analysis techniques were carried out with gain test analysis. The average score of prospective teachers' teaching skills at the time of cycle 1 was 36.9 in the very unskilled category, to 81.6 in the skilled category in cycle 3, experiencing an increase in scores from cycle 1 to cycle 3 with an N-gain score = 0.7 in the moderate category.  Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that project-based learning in microteaching courses can improve the teaching skills of prospective physics teachers in microteaching courses.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to analyze the level and patterns of misconceptions among eleventh-grade students on the topic of temperature and heat, involving 200 respondents from SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan, MAN 2 Model Medan, and SMA PAB 4 Sampali, as well as to examine the effectiveness of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based diagnostic assessment. Misconceptions often arise from students’ everyday experiences that are not scientifically grounded, while manual identification of misconceptions tends to be time-consuming and inefficient. The study employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential exploratory design. The instruments used included teacher interviews, an AI-based two-tier diagnostic test, and student and teacher response questionnaires. Data analysis involved quantitative descriptive analysis to determine the percentage of students’ conceptual understanding and qualitative analysis to identify misconception patterns based on combinations of answers and reasoning. The findings revealed that 31% of students demonstrated proper conceptual understanding, 46% experienced dominant misconceptions, and 23% lacked conceptual understanding. The dominant misconceptions were related to the concepts of temperature and heat, heat transfer, thermal equilibrium, and phase changes. The AI-based diagnostic assessment proved effective in rapidly identifying misconceptions and providing consistent feedback. In addition, student responses were categorized as very good (74.99%), while teacher responses were categorized as very good (81.94%). Therefore, AI-based diagnostic assessment has strong potential to improve adaptive, data-driven physics evaluation practices.Keywords: misconceptions; artificial intelligence; two-tier diagnostic test; temperature and heat.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis tingkat dan pola miskonsepsi siswa kelas XI dengan responden sebanyak 200 dari SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan, MAN 2 Model Medan, dan SMA PAB 4 Sampali pada materi suhu dan kalor, serta mengkaji efektivitas asesmen diagnostik berbasis Artificial Intelligence (AI); miskonsepsi sering muncul dari pengalaman sehari-hari tanpa landasan ilmiah dan identifikasi manual memakan waktu lama. Menggunakan pendekatan mixed-methods desain sequential exploratory dengan instrumen wawancara guru, tes diagnostik dua tingkat (two-tier) berbasis AI, serta angket respon siswa-guru, analisis data mencakup deskriptif kuantitatif untuk persentase pemahaman konsep dan kualitatif untuk pola miskonsepsi berdasarkan kombinasi jawaban-alasan; hasil menunjukkan 31% paham konsep, 46% miskonsepsi dominan (pola utama: suhu-kalor, perpindahan panas, keseimbangan termal, perubahan fase), 23% tidak paham, dengan AI efektif identifikasi cepat dan umpan balik konsisten; respon siswa sangat baik (74,99%) dan guru sangat baik (81,94%), sehingga asesmen AI berpotensi tingkatkan evaluasi fisika adaptif berbasis data.Kata kunci: miskonsepsi; artificial intelligence; tes diagnostik two-tier; suhu dan kalor.

Abstract

Abstract The low physics learning outcomes of students are triggered by the use of conventional learning models and the minimal use of innovative learning media. This study aims to review whether the learning outcomes of students taught using the guided inquiry model with Powtoon media are higher than the learning outcomes of students taught using conventional learning models on the material of work and energy at SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan. The research method applies a quasi-experimental two-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample with simple random sampling includes two classes, namely class X-G as an experimental class taught using the guided inquiry model assisted by Powtoon and class X-H as a control class using conventional learning. The research instrument in the form of a multiple-choice test of 15 questions was given through a pretest and posttest to review student learning outcomes. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests. Data analysis techniques applied normality tests, homogeneity tests and hypothesis tests. The results showed that the average post-test score for the experimental class was 81.437, while the control class was 71.875. A one-tailed hypothesis test then conducted, showing a significant difference in the learning outcomes of students in the experimental and control classes, where the average post-test score for the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. This shows that the implementation of the guided inquiry model assisted by Powtoon is effective in improving student learning outcomes. Therefore, the use of innovative learning models supported by interactive media can be an appropriate alternative to improve the quality of physics learning in schools.Keywords: guided inquiry; powtoon; learning outcomes; physics education; work and energy. AbstrakRendahnya hasil belajar fisika siswa yang dipicu pemanfaatan model belajar konvensional dan minimnya pemanfaatan media belajar inovatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau apakah hasil belajar peserta didik yang diajar menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing dengan media Powtoon lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional pada materi usaha dan energi di SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan. Metode penelitian menerapkan quasi eksperimen berdesain two group pretest-posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan sebanyak 8 kelas, dimana setiap kelas berjumlah 32 orang siswa. Sampel penelitian dengan teknik cluster random sampling mencakup dua kelas, yaitu kelas X IPA G sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan memakai model inkuiri terbimbing dibantu Powtoon serta kelas X IPA H sebagai kelas kontrol memakai pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 15 soal. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan soal tes berupa pretest dan posttest. Teknik analisis data menerapkan uji normalitas, Uji homogenitas serta uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan nilai rerata postest kelas eksperimen 81.437 sementara kelas kontrol 71.875 lalu dilaksanakan uji hipotesis satu pihak ada beda signifikan pada hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen serta kelas kontrol, di mana nilai rerata posttest kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol. Hal ini memperlihatkan implementasi model inkuiri terbimbing dibantu Powtoon efektif menaikkan hasil belajar siswa. Dengan begitu, pemanfaatan model belajar inovatif yang didukung media interaktif bisa dijadikan alternatif yang tepat guna membangkitkan mutu belajar fisika di sekolah.Kata kunci: inkuiri terbimbing; media Powtoon; hasil belajar; pembelajaran fisika; quasi eksperimen.
