Abstract

Essential oils for the people of Indonesia can be used as an alternative source of income, due to essential oil prices is promising. Life skill training for foster care in Orphanages and boarding schools through the entrepreneurial coaching essential oil production is believed to be able to provide foster care in order to have adequate life skill, so post away from orphanages or boarding schools can do independent business. Architecture tools distilled water-steam system using stainlesteel. The results of the activities showed that the youth partners able to do practice cultivation of citronella fragrance begins with how to cultivate the land, planting and maintaining plant citronella scented with trial cultivation of land covering an area of 600 m2 total number of seeds and citronella scented 4,000 rods. Essential oil production practices began with the practice of how to harvest, how to enter material into the appliance distilled with a capacity of 25-30 kg, the process of distillation and separation of essential oil from destilat. The results of the practice of cultivation of citronella scented Lemongrass scented plants produce 1 clump average contains 170 stem (3.25 – 3.75 kg) and total production reached 1.8 tons of leaves of the Lemongrass scented with essential oils as much as product quantities 14.40 kg.

Abstract

The type of this research is a qualitative field research. The data collection used in thisresearch is observation method, interview, and documentation. In the qualitative descriptiveanalysis using inductive approach. The result of these research are; firstly; themanagement of curriculum in forming student’s character in Ta’mirul Islam ElementarySchool of Surakarta, consist of several points, there are: the process of learningcurriculum planning which consist of staff coordination meeting and early meeting bymaking learning administration. Secondly, implementing curriculum that forming somecharacter, such as discipline and responsible, in line with some good habituation likereciting a holy Qur’an, patriotism, obligatory, and sunnah prayer, doing exercise, theimplementation of student’s monitoring book, assignments, and charity and religiousactivities such as charity’s camp and pesantren ramadhan. Thirdly, the evaluation ofimplementation activities in forming the character that packed in supervision and monitoringactivities. The management of curriculum implementation which build third classin Ta’mirul Islam Elementary School of Surakarta is really affective and efficient, sothat many educational success can be reached in academic as well as in non-academicsector’s, especially in building discipline and responsible character. There are severaldifficulties that management of curriculum implementation face in building charactersuch as, the number of students, the students economic background, a little gap betweenschool and student’s parents, less communication, the distance of students homewith school, and some other student’s environment factors that unsupported

Abstract

Some essential oils have been shown to have activity as a natural pesticide that is effective and safe for humans and the environment. This activity aims to enhance the skills of adolescent Al Kaaf’s orphanage through diversification of citronella oil into products biopesticides. Diversification citronella oil into a biopesticide made through three main activities, namely (1) briefing on biopesticides and knowledge-based biopesticide formulations ways citronella oil, (2) packaging and labeling of products biopesticides and (3) test the activity against H. armigera insect. The results of these activities have improved insight on biopesticides, inspire and enhance creativity and life skills for adolescents are cared for Al Kaaf’s orphanage. Formula of biopesticide that is composed of citronella oil and clove oil (ratio 1: 1) has the power to kill insect pests of H. armigera faster than formula biopesticide consisting of citronella oil and basil oil (ratio 1: 1). The test results also show formula-based biopesticides this essential oil is a contact poison against H. armigera insect pests.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analize the correlation of organizational climate with the performance of teachers, the relationship of knowladge communications with the performanceof teachers, and the relationship of organizational climate and knowledge of communication together with the performance of teachers. Samples of this research were junior high schoolteachers throughout the District Ketahun. Correlation descriptive research method applied in this study. The results showed that: there is a positive correlation between organizational climate with the performance of teachers, there is a positive correlation between knowledge of communication and teacher performance, and there is a positive correlation between organizational climate and knowledge of communication together with the performance of teachers.Keywords: organizational climate, communication science, teacher performance
