Dissemination on Rice’s New High Yielding Variety Through Demonstration Farming of Jajar Legowo Technology in East Java Tri Sudaryono

Abstract

Agricultural Research Agency has innovated Integrated Crop Management (ICM) of lowland rice. This innovation has been adopted and developed by the General of Food Crop Directorate and implemented in the form of Field School. The constituent technology components of ICM continues to be refined over time. Various components of the resulted technology are assembled into a technology package called Jajar Legowo Super of Rice Technology. The intactly application of this technology by farmers accompanied by intensive facilitation is believed to be able to produce yield at least 10 tons of Drain Grain Harvest (DGH)/ha in each season, compared to the yield of rice cultivated by farmers which is only about 6 tons of DGH/ha. Accelerating the dissemination of Rice’s New Superior Varieties through Demonstration Farming (Demo farm) of Jajar Legowo Super Technology in East Java was conducted in Central Sadar Village, Mojoanyar Subdistrict, Mojokerto Regency involving Mardi Tani Farmer Group. The activity was held at Dry Season II (June - November 2016). Through this activity, it is expected to accelerate the spread and the increasing implementation of rice farming technology adoption through the approach of Jajar Legowo Super which has an impact on the increasing efficiency of farming. Results show that the use of Certified Superior Seed Varieties (CSSV) through demo farm of Jajar Legowo Super increases productivity between 12.26-32.03%, improves farmers' efficiency and income, and generates about 25 tons of Extention Seed (ES) and Stock Seed (S) paddy seeds. In addition, from this activity it is confirmed that adopting the technology components of Jajar Legowo Super by farmers increases significantly if compared to both before and after demo farm. The highest adoption increase about 60% is shown in components using Rice Field Test Kit (RFTK) and biological fertilizers.Keywords: Dissemination, Jajar Legowo Super, Rice, Technology

Abstract

Penelitian untuk mempelajari  tanggap sejumlah genotype padi terhadap tiga tingkat kepadatan tanaman dilakukan di Kebon Agung, Bantul, Mei hingga Oktober 2009.  Rancangan percobaan berupa petak terpisah, tiga ulangan. Petak utama adalah 12 genotipe: WCR021, WCR032, WCR041, WCR073, WCR107, WCR115,  WCR137, WCR140,  WCR152, Batang Samo, Intani-2, dan Ciherang. Anak petak berupa tiga kepadatan tanaman: 250.000; 2000.000, dan 160.000 tanaman per ha atau jarak tanam 20x20 cm, 20x25 cm, dan 25x25 cm. Bibit berumur 21 hari ditanam pada tiga tingkat kepadatan dengan jumlah bibit satu per lubang tanam pada plot berukuran 4x5 m.  Data menunjukkan bahwa hasil gabah tertinggi diraih oleh  WCR152 dan WCR140, masing-masing 11,00 dan 10,90 t per ha, keduanya dicapai  pada kepadatan 200,000 tanaman per ha, dengan jumlah malai per rumpun untuk WCR152 dan WCR140 adalah 16,40 dan 16,55 batang. Umur tanaman paling genjah ditemukan pada WCR041 dan WCR107 pada tiga tingkat kepadatan tanaman. Pada kepadatan 250.000; 200.000; dan 160.000 tanaman per ha, umur tanaman WCR041 adalah 104,5; 106,5; dan 107,5  hari; umur WCR107 adalah  103,5; 105,5 dan 108,5 hari. Kepadatan tanaman tidak berpengaruh terhadap bobot 1000 butir

Abstract

Salacca zalacca is one of fruit in Indonesia and in others areas, Salacca zalacca is a superior fruit which have market oriented in national and international. One of areas in East Java which is the center of Salacca zalacca production is Malang Regency with the famous varieties “Suwaru”. Varieties “Suwaru” as one of East Java's superior fruit has been released as a superior variety, it have the most of thick flesh meat, masir, sweet, aromatic and it’s weight between 70 - 120 g. Given its economic value, efforts to increase production and farm income of Salacca zalacca varieties Suwaru need to be done. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of water supply and ZA fertilization on the production and increase income farmer of Salacca zalacca variety “Suwaru” in Suwaru Village, Pagelaran Sub-district, Malang Regency from April 2012 until August 2013. The result of this research shows that the increase of production and income farmer of Salacca zalacca variety “Suwaru” can be reach with giving water and ZA fertilization. Water supply and ZA fertilization can increase the production of Salacca zalacca variety “Suwaru” up to two-fold. In the way the giving ZA fertilization, income farmer of Salacca zalacca variety “Suwaru” can be increased up to three-fold.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengevaluasi keragaan parameter fenotip dan genetik hasil serta karakter agronomi dari enam padi hibrida di lahan masam Jasinga, Jawa Barat, selama musim kemarau (MK), dari bulan April hingga Agustus 2008. Enam padi hibrida yaitu IR58025A/Kapuas, IR68885A/Kapoas, IR58025A/Mendawak, IR68885A/Batanghari, IR58025A/Inderagiri, IRS 8025A/Lambur dan varietas pembanding lokal Hawara Bunar dirancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil gabah empat padi hibrida yaitu IRS8025A/Kapuas (6,8 t/ha), IR68885A/Kapuas (6,6 t/ha), IRS 8025A/Mendawak (6,6 t/ha) dan IR68885A/Batanghari (6,4 t/ha) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan varietas kontrol Hawara Bunar (4,9 t/ha). Nilai variabilitas genetik yang luas terdapat pada hasil gabah (0,12), umur tanaman (16,34), tinggi tanaman (20,48), jumlah anakan produktif per rumpun (5,14), dan jumlah gabah isi per malai (41,37). Nilai duga heritabilitas tinggi terdapat pada hasil gabah (0,92), umur tanaman (0,68), tinggi tanaman (0,63), jumlah anakan produktif (0,95) dan jumlah gabah isi per malai (0,95). Korelasi genetik dan korelasi fenotip positif nyata antara hasil gabah dengan jumlah gabah isi per malai (0,05*), umur tanaman (0,25*), tinggi tanaman (0,12*), dan jumlah anakan produktif per rumpun (0,07*). Kata kunci : keragaan fenotip, genetik, agronomi, padi hibrida, lahan kering masam ABSTRACT The objective of the experiment was to evaluate phenotypic performance and genetic parameters of yield and agronomic traits of six hybrids rice at acidic dryland in Jasinga, West Java, during dry season of April-August 2008. Six hybrids rice such as IR58025A/Kapuas, IR68885A/Kapuas, IRS 8025 A/Mendawak, IR68885A/Batanghari, IR58025A/Inderagiri, IRS8025A/Lambur and Hawara Bunar (control) were designed by using Randomized Complete Block Design in three replications. The results showed that yield of four hybrids rice namely IRS8025A/Kapuas (6.81 ha"1), IR68885A/Kapuas (6.61 ha"1 ), IRS8025A/Mendawak (6.6 t ha"1) and IR68885A/Batanghari (6.4 t ha"1) were higher than that of Hawara Bunar (4.9 t ha"1). Broad genetic variabilities were found for grain yield (0.12), plant maturity (16.34), plant height (20.48), number of productive tiller per hill (5.14), and filled grain per panicle (41.37). High heritability estimate was found for grain yield (0.92), plant maturity (0.68), plant height (0.63), number of productive tiller per hill (0.95), and filled grain per panicle (0.95). Genetic and phenotypic correlation was found positive and significant between grain yield and filled grain per panicle (0.05*), plant maturity (0,25*), plant height (0.12*), and productive tiller per hill (0.07*).
