Abstract

Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) is a universal important plant. Its production has decreased each year. A major problems is a pest known as Aphis glycine Matsumura (Hemiptera: Aphididae) which caused the decline of yield up to 40%. Thus, there is a need to control A. glycine. Recent studies showed B. bassiana has a potency as endophyte in Vicia faba (Fabaceae) plant tissue. It could harm A. gossypii and causes death up to 57,7%. Therefore, the aim of this research is to control infestation of A. glycine by using B. bassiana. This research used Randomized Block Design with soybean plant Anjasmoro variety as samples. The initiation of B. bassiana was conducted by using seed-soaking and soil-wetting methods. The results showed that fungus B. bassiana was able to colonize soybean plants with a percentage of colonization reaching 6.67%. Colonization was only found in the stems of soybean plants in the seed immersion treatment with the susceptibility of B. bassiana fungus in density of 108 conidia / mL for 2 hours, colonization on the stem itself by 20%. Fungus density results from evaluation of 1.6 x 105 conidia / mL and conidial viability reached 87.4%. There were no deaths and changes in the population of A. glycine aphids. Direct pathogenicity testing has a significant effect on the treatment between observations of the second day. Initiation of B. bassiana fungi did not significantly affect plant height and number of leaf branches. This results conclude that B. bassiana may function as endophyte in soybean plants. Abstract

A rural village, similar to other rural areas, has a need to be economically independent in cope with their sustainable economic growth.  A unique value accompanied by good hospitality has been the main situation concerns with tourism. This paper discusses the assessment of attitudes and concerns of residents in the-only educational scout-based tourism village in Indonesia. Data for the study was collected by spreading the questionnaire directly to residents. Data collected through a direct survey. Attitudes were assessed by a 5-point strongly disagree and strongly agree scale on several questions implying residents' opinions on educational scout-based tourism and its impacts. The results showed great support for tourism. Residents have positive attitudes regarding tourism as they associate it to be important for their economic growth. The main concerns for residents in welcoming tourism are including their village community progress, better services in health and education, as well as the hope for the available market in their crafts products. However, the results also showed residents were not particularly assured of the user (tourists) money circulation and facilities benefit from the tourism activities occurred in their village, even though they support educational scout-based tourism development. It indicated a lack of self-confidence and trust issues towards the tourism manager. In this paper, a slight correlation between education and residents' attitudes towards tourism also discussed.  Keywords: confidence, educational tourism, Lebakharjo, trust.

Abstract

Agroforestry is a form of sustainable agriculture; the present threat of agroforestry is a change in agroforestry landforms that have switched to a less sustainable form. Coffee plays a role in the agroforestry ecosystem, Kalibaru is one of the Banyuwangi District coffee centers managed by the local community. The objective of this study was to determine the vegetation structure and analyze the effect of that on environmental parameters. Data was collected by vegetation analysis and soil parameter analysis with PAST 2020 Software version 4.05. In total, 15 research plots were used, consisting of 5 complex agroforestry, 5 simple agroforestry, and 5 monoculture plots. The results showed 20 species in complex agroforestry, 24 species in simple agroforestry, and 18 species in monoculture  were found. The highest important index level in complex agroforestry: Durio zibethinus 63.87%  for trees, the Swietenia mahagoni 64.43%  for poles, and Coffee canephora 128.87% for shrubs. In simple agroforestry : Cocos nucifera 72.83% for trees, Leucaena leucocephala  80.70%  for poles, and the Coffea canephora 137.57%  for shrubs. In monoculture agroforestry: Hibiscus similis 82.99%  for trees, Leucaena leucocephala 209.22% for poles, and Coffea canephora 130.96% for shrubs. Agroforestry in Kalibaru was categorized  in the moderate diversity. The diversity index (H') in complex agroforestry showed H' trees 2.21, pole 2.03 and. shrubs 1.60. Simple agroforestry shows H' tree 2.00, pole 2.49, and shrubs 1.50. Monoculture shows H' tree 1.98, pole 0.64, and shrubs 1.54. Agroforestry a role in maintaining soil moisture and temperature, complex agroforestry: temperature 24 0C, and Moist 5.82, simple: temperature 24.2 0C, Moist 5.42, and Monoculture temperature 26 0C, Moist 4.54.

Abstract

Abstrak. Agroforestri kopi di Kecamatan Kalipuro, Banyuwangi, seperti agroforestry pada umumnya, dapat mendorong pembangunan berkelanjutan dengan mempertahankan aktivitas manusia (pertanian) bersamaan dengan melestarikan sumber daya alam. Jasa layanan agroforestri ini bisa didapatkan jika praktek agroforestri dilaksanakan secara berkelanjutan. Salah satu cara untuk mempertahankan sistem berkelanjutan pada agroforestri adalah dengan mempraktikkan manajemen berkelanjutan, baik dari sisi peningkatan daya dukung lingkungan maupun masyarakatnya. Berdasarkan analisis situasi yang telah dilakasanakan, permasalahan utama yang ada di wilayah agroforestry ini, yaitu pengelolaan kebun kopi yang belum sepenuhnya organik. Kondisi ini dapat mengancam keberlanjutan pertanian organic di daerah tersebut. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya langkah aktif peningkatan daya dukung masyarakat dari pihak akademisi dan juga praktisi. Pelatihan pengendalian hayati dan pembuatan pestisida nabati merupakan salah satu peningkatan IPTEK dalam rangka meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat petani, ibu-ibu dan remaja untuk dapat berperan serta menjaga keberlanjutan pertanian berkelanjutan. Pengenalan perbedaan hama dan musuh alami, cara menjaga keberlanjutan kehidupan musuh alami, pelestarian tanaman yang dapat digunakan sebagai sumber pestisida nabati, serta pembuatan pestisida menggunakan mesin asap cair telah diperkenalkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini.Kata Kunci: pestisida nabati, musuh alami, hama, daya dukung masyarakati
