Abstract

Moyudan Subdistrict is an area that has several small industries of chicken farming. Partner who was the participant of this community service program, Prayogo’s Chicken Slaughterhouse, an SME in Yogyakarta, had a major obstacles to increase the production capacity of good, neat, clean, and hygienic chicken meat and meeting halal standards. In addition, this business still did not have chicken cutting standards according to factory standards (SNI 01-6160-1999). The cutting process was still done manually and conventionally, with mediocre quality and quantity. Production capacity was low, and many production operators experienced high fatigue in the hands and shoulders or experienced musculoskeletal fatigue. The expected transfer of technology in this program is the design of modifications to poultry cutting machines that suit the needs of this partner and is associated with the selection of portable poultry machine designs and manufacturing technologies that can later improve the quality and capacity of chicken meat processing according to halal standards. The results of this community service activity are; (1) one unit of portable poultry machine given to partner; (2) an increase in production capacity of 429% in terms of cutting capacity per day with smooth, precise, and accurate cutting quality; (3) reduced fatigue experienced by the production operators after the machine in operation. The chicken cutting capacity of Prayogo's Chickens Slaughterhouse can be increased by 4.29 times from 75 chickens a day to a maximum of 321 chickens a day.

Abstract

Sleman Regency is an area that accommodates several small chicken industries. This research uses four partners, namely Chicken Slaughterhouse Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs)  Arisa, Lasno, Ipin, Prayogo) which have significant obstacles in increasing the production capacity of good, neat, clean, and hygiene chicken meat and meeting halal standards. The cutting process is still manual and conventional, with quality and production capacity still minor and major fatigue impacts cutting operators. The purpose of Community Service (Abdimas) is the design of modified poultry slaughter machines that suit the needs of these partners and is associated with the selection of portable poultry machine design and manufacturing technology that can later improve the quality and capacity of proper chicken meat slaughter . The final result of this abdimas activity is in the form of (1) one unit of portable poultry machine tested to 4 partners (2) there was an increase in production capacity by 400%, up to 443% in terms of cutting capacity/day with fine cutting quality, precision (3) reduced fatigue experienced by chicken slaughter operators after the tool was completed within 7 hours / day and optimal production capacity increased 4 times, and the slaughter time of chickens is reduced by 75%.

Abstract

Penggunaan komposit yang diperkuat serat alam berkembang pesat di industri otomotif. Biokomposit adalah material komposit yang terdiri dari matriks polimer dan penguat serat alami. Serat alam dapat menggantikan bahan tradisional yang tidak terbarukan. Namun, biokomposit memiliki daya serap air, yang dapat mempengaruhi sifat mekanik yang menentukan kualitas biokomposit dalam aplikasi otomotif. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan pemeriksaan pengaruh perilaku penyerapan air pada biokomposit yang dapat mempengaruhi sifat mekanik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perilaku penyerapan air biokomposit berpengaruh positif. Terjadi peningkatan nilai kekuatan impak dari 0.24 menjadi 0.27 (J/mm2), begitu juga dengan nilai kekuatan lentur dari 94.86 menjadi 96.74 (MPa). Temuan yang didapat dalam penelitian ini melengkapi analisis pada penelitian sebelumnya, biokomposit cocok digunakan dalam aplikasi luar ruangan seperti komponen pada kendaraan.

Abstract

Market competition in the wood processing industry, especially furniture products, door leaves, windows, frames, and interior crafts, is getting tighter. Frames and interior crafts is getting tighter. The need for new breakthroughs in developing uniquely patterned doors leaves us with technology to continue sales in an increasingly tight market. One aspect of producing unique patterned door leaves is Indonesian Batik ornaments using Artistics CAD / CAM technology and CNC Router machines. Using this technology, this community service goal of making door leaves patterned with Indonesian Batik ornaments helps SME entrepreneurs compete with better results. The method applied is the development and explorative manufacture of uniquely patterned door leaves with the application of advanced technology software engineering, artistic technology CAD/CAM, and CNC router machines. Process selection using this technology can save 1440 to 538 minutes or 62.64%. The optimal parameter conditions are A2, B2, C3, D3, E3. The optimal simulation and machining time (TS) is 481.56 minutes, and the optimum TR is 538 minutes. Technology produces quality and precision products at a lower cost, from Rp 1.2 million/m2 to Rp 500,000/m2, reduced by 37.36% from the original.
