Abstract

PT X is a manufacturing company that produces motorcycle units. With the continuous increase of product demand from consumers, it makes PT X being one of the largest manufacturing companies in Indonesia. As long this determination of the distribution route is conducted by PT X only based on the experience and knowledge of the drivers. The distribution route should include the configuration of the appropriate distribution channels, in order for the delivery to be fast at a low cost. This problem is known as the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP). To overcome the problem must conduct research in the hope to minimize the cost of distribution of motorcycle units to the dealers, that is by calculating fuel consumption, tolls chargers, bundles of units and loading and unloading. The problem Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is solved by using Saving Matrix method. The calculation result can minimize distribution costs of Rp3.323.500,-. While the actual cost of the company is Rp3.530.000,-. Abstract

PT. Panamas Mitra Inti Lestari is a company engaged in the production of household appliances, which need to continually improve productivity performance to increase the maximum profit by trying to reduce costs, improve quality and timely delivery to customers. In conducting the production process there is a discrepancy of the output of production with a production target specified. This happens because it was discovered their waste in the production process. Waste prioritized for attention in the production process is waste of defect and transportation. Therefore we need a lean manufacturing approach. The first thing to do is to identify the waste that occurs by creating a current state map, waste on the current state map and look for the root cause analysis using fishbone diagram analysis and FMEA. Recommendations for improvements in future state mapping is implementing continuous flow by reducing WIP at the work station is the shortest cycle time. After being given the proposed recommendations for improvement then the last step is to describe the future state map and analyze the changes that occur so that the results obtained are reduced lead time for (28.44%), a reduction in total inventory (28.50%). The decline in total travel time (2.65%) and the last is the reduction of travel distance (7.95%). Keywords:  Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, Diagram Fishbone Safety Stock

Abstract

Desa Munjung Agung adalah salah satu desa nelayan di Kabupaten Tegal. Pelaku usaha perikanan maupun non perikanan sangat mengandalkan teknik pendinginan untuk mempertahankan kesegaran hasil tangkapan maupun bahan makanannya dalam cold storage container. Ice gel atau dry ice (es kering) dapat dijadikan salah satu solusi sebagai pengganti es batu yang murah. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah Memberikan pelatihan pembuatan dan penggunaan portable cold containers bagi para penambak ikan untuk pengiriman ikan ke luar kota dengan waktu tempuh yang cukup panjang; dikirim tidak rusak kualitasnya menurun. Selama ini, para pengusaha yang memiliki modal besar yang dapat menggunakan alat angkut cold storage dalam bentuk truk dan pickup. Besarnya modal dari alat angkut cold storage menyebabkan biaya sewanya menjadi mahal. Kisaran 20-40% biaya jual dipengaruhi dari biaya transportasi disamping itu, tidak banyak alat angkut cold storage terutama di daerah-daerah menyebabkan kesulitan mendapatkanya. Adanya portable cold storage yang murah menjadi solusi menyelesaikan masalah mereka. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan adanya peran penting UPS Tegal untuk memberikan solusi permasalahan yang ada di masyarakat khususnya para penambak ikan. Keberlanjutan program bisa berlanjut.
