Abstract

This study aimed to identify the variation of trichomes in the Solanaceae family found in the Cendana Hill of Sedan District, Rembang Regency. This study used the trichome printing method and the results were observed under a microscope. This study found trichomes glandular and non-glandular from the six Solanaceae species with various types. Different variations were found from the six species of the Solanaceae family, i.e: stellata, acicular, uncinate, hydathode, simplex and curved. The variations of trichomes from the Solanaceae family have different characteristics and shapes. This study identified six species from the Solanaceae family that have variations in the shape and type of trichomes on the epidermal layer of leaves, i.e: Solanum melongena var. melongena, var. serpentinum, Solanum lycopersicum, Solanum nigrum, Physalis angulata, Nicotiana tabacum, and Capsicum frutescens. Non-glandular trichomes act as a mechanical defense against pathogens and herbivores, while glandular trichomes have the function of secreting secondary metabolites, such as alkaloids and flavonoids, which play a role in chemical defense.

Abstract

Mobile learning-based practicum instructions to improve critical thinking have not been maximally empowered in schools. This study aims to design mobile learning-based practicum instructions with a guided inquiry approach to enhance critical thinking skills and describe the validity of mobile learning-based practicum instructions with a Guide Inquiry approach to improve critical thinking skills that have been designed. This research uses the Research and Development method with the ADDIE development model. The procedure of this research is analysis, design, and development. This research comes to the stage of product validity. The instrument used in this study is a validity sheet covering aspects of material, systematics, linguistics, and graphics. The data analysis technique used in this study is a quantitative descriptive technique to describe validation data and comment on validator advice. The results of this study show that mobile learning-based practicum instructions have met valid criteria with an average percentage of 84.95%. Thus, it can be concluded that the mobile learning-based practicum instructions with a guided inquiry approach improve critical thinking skills that are designed to be valid.

Abstract

The condition of environmental sustainability in Indonesia is decreasing along with the times. People tend to focus on function without thinking about how to preserve nature. Ngerong Cave is one of the uses of nature as a tourist attraction and an area for meeting the needs of the people of Rengel Village, Tuban. The utilization of the Ngerong Cave creates new problems, such as the amount of garbage and detergent waste that pollutes the Ngerong aquatic environment. Utilizing nature without paying attention to environmental conditions will harm environmental sustainability if it occurs continuously. Therefore, efforts need to be made to maintain an integrated and sustainable environment. This effort can be done by applying the local cultural values of the community. Internalization of local cultural values can build public awareness of environmental conservation awareness. This research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative research. This study aims to explain the relevance of local cultural values to environmental sustainability which is supported by empirical data in the form of the abundance of aquatic biota in Ngerong Cave and plant diversity in Ngerong Cave and direct observations related to environmental conditions. The results of the study conclude that the internalization of local cultural values affects ecological sustainability in the Ngerong Cave area.

Abstract

The development of technology is currently accelerating. One of the uses of technology in education is teaching or supporting media in learning. This study aimed to design E-instructions for the stomata observation practicum inquiry method to improve critical thinking in learning valid plant anatomy and to determine E-instructions' validity to improve critical thinking in learning plant anatomy. The method in this research is the ADDIE method, which has several stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research data was collected using validity instruments in the form of validity sheets. This research uses a descriptive quantitative data analysis technique describing the data's validity. The validity test results get the following average: the material aspect receives an average of 85.8%, the systematic aspect gets a validity value of 84.3%, the language aspect gets a value of 88.3%, and the graphic aspect receives a value of 89.3%. The average score for all aspects of the assessment is 86.9%. Based on the scores of the three expert validators, it can be concluded that the results of the validation of the Inquiry-Approach Practicum E-Instructions to Improve Critical Thinking in Plant Anatomy Learning are in the very valid category.
