Abstract

The Article 36 of Language Act requires the use of Indonesian in geographic names, the names of buildings, streets, apartments or settlements, offices, trade centers, trademarks, business institutions, and organizations or Indonesian legal entities. In reality, the “mandate” of this Act is inconsistently appreciated. There are still geographic names, buildings, trademarks and others do not use Indonesian. In adition, the writing of those names is varied and many of them disobey the spelling systems and diction.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types and patterns of errors that occur in short story writing in trilingual students of grade VII at Tzu Chi International School, so that the types and patterns of language errors can be used as guidelines in compiling teaching materials for short story writing in an international schools (SPK). The method in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The source of the data for this research is a short story that written by grade VII Tzu Chi International School students. The results obtained from 32 samples there were 316 errors consisting of errors in spelling, diction, affixes, and sentence structure aspects. The most language errors were in the spelling aspect, totally 114 errors (36%) including errors in writing capital letters, writing pronouns, writing prepositions, writing acronyms, rewriting words, writing numbers, using absorption words, and using punctuation marks, then errors on the diction aspect, there are 85 errors (26.8 %), including errors in finding the appropriate form (suitable) with the situation and the sense of Bahasa Indonesia native speakers. Errors in the affix aspect 80 errors (25.3%), which included errors in the omission of the affix field and in the word formation, errors in sounds that should have melted, but were not melted, errors in the yielding of sounds that should not have melted, replacement and shortening of morphs, and the use of inappropriate affixes and errors in the aspect of sentence structure as many as 37 errors (11.7%) including excessive wording and use of elements, unsubjected sentence errors, unpredicated sentences, and ambiguous sentences. Keywords: Language errors, diction aspect, spelling aspect, affix aspect, sentence structure aspect and ability to write short stories

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the effect of using audio visual media and learning interest jointly towards students’ ability in writing  poetry (2) The effect of using audio visual media towards students’ ability in writing poetry (3) The influence of students' learning interest  towards students’ ability in writing poetry. The research was conducted using a survey method. The population in this study were students from 10th grade of Vocational High School in Karawang Regency with a sample size of 88 students. The sampling technique used was multistage random sampling. The instruments used in the study were a questionnaire in the form of a Google Form and a writing skill test. Data analysis using multiple linear regression. The results of hypothesis testing obtained the following conclusions: (1) There is a significant effect on the use of instructional media and interest in learning jointly towards students’ ability in writing  poetry. It can be proved that the Sig. 0.000 <0.05 and the calculated F value of 715.855> 3.95. (2) There is a significant effect of using audio visual media towards students’ ability in writing poetry. It can be proved that the value of Sig = 0.000 <0.05 and tobserved = 25.357> 1.987. (3) There is a significant effect of students' learning interest  towards students’ ability in writing poetry. It can be proved that Sig = 0.000 <0.05 and tobserved = 22,672> 1,987. The implication in this research is that the use of audio-visual media, especially documentary films, and support for learning interest are sufficient to influence the ability to write descriptive texts for the better. Keywords: Learning Media, Audio Visual Media, Learnig Interest, Indonesian Poetry Writing Lessons.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Tindak Tutur Direktif dan Maknanya Pada Komunikasi Masyarakat Betawi di Kampung Selang Cau Kecamatan Cibitung dalam Kajian Hermeneutik. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan metode pustaka yang berarti peneliti mencari bahan data atau sumber data yang berhubungan dengan kegiatan peneliti ini melalui buku-buku yang relevan sebagai landasan teori. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk menganalisis penelitian ini dengan menggunakan pendekatan objektif deskriptif dan kualitatif yang mendeskripsikan gambaran unsur dalam Tindak Tutur Direktif dan Maknanya Pada Komunikasi Masyarakat Betawi di Kampung Selang Cau Kecamatan Cibitung dalam Kajian Hermeneutik. Penelitian ini memiliki langkah kerja untuk mendeskripsikan secara terperinci bentuk-bentuk tidak tutur direktif pada bahasa betawi pada komunikasi masyarakat di kampung Selang Cau. penggunaan tindak tutur direktif lebih dominan terdapat aspek direktif pertanyaan sebanyak 52 temuan dengan 44,07%, kedua aspek direktif menasehatkan sebanyak 19 temuan dengan 16,10%, ketiga aspek direktif larangan sebanyak 17 temuan dengan 14,41%, keempat aspek direktif meminta sebanyak 14 temuan dengan 11,86%, kelima aspek perintah sebanyak 11 temuan dengan 9,32%, dan terkahir aspek direktif memberikan wewenang sebanyak 5 temuan dengan 16,10%. Dengan demikian, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa aspek tindak pertanyaan pada komunikasi masyarakat betawi di kampung Selang Cau lebih dominan dibanding dengan unsur lainnya.Kata kunci: Tindak Tutur Direktif, Makna, Hermeneutik
