The era of globalization requires various sectors to make changes, including in the world of education. The data were collected using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The data were analysed using descriptive-qualitative analysis. The results shown that the implementation of KKNI based curriculum in postgraduate at PTKIN institutions in East Java took place from 2016 to 2020. The implementation began with socialization in the form of curriculum workshops. In those workshops, a curriculum draft and guidelines for its implementation were prepared. However, there were some in the implementation. One of them is that most of the lecturers did not understand the basic concepts of curriculum. To overcome this, intensive workshops were held to prepare syllabus, semester program plans and courses for each semester.

Abstract

Nowadays, Islamic studies research should not be limited to the use of the Nash text study paradigm, such as the classical Islamic scientific tradition. The monodisciplinary approach is no longer sufficient to answer the challenges of the times faced by Muslims in various worlds, for example, the problem of the Covid-19 pandemic that has hit since 2019. Islamic studies using an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approach are expected to be the answer to the challenges of the modern and contemporary Islamic world today. This paper uses a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review related to interdisciplinary research in Islamic Studies by content analysis approach. In conclusion, first, there are some approaches applied to Islamic studies, namely normative theological, anthropological approaches, sociological approaches, philosophical approaches, historical approaches, cultural approaches, psychological approaches, and hermeneutic approaches. Secondly, in applying these interdisciplinary approaches to Islamic studies, problems can be solved using a number of approaches or points of view at once, for example using sociological, historical, and normative approaches simultaneously, or several other approaches. Third, the results of these interdisciplinary Islamic studies can develop, enrich and produce the intellectual treasures of Islamic studies at State Islamic Religious Higher Education in Indonesia (PTKIN)

Abstract

The academic problems of this research stem from the environmental phenomenon of the Pesantren Al-Falah Ploso where the students still respect their Kyai, in other words, the ta’dzim attitude towards the teacher (Kyai) is still very well maintained. This is different from general education institutions in Indonesia. Ta’dzim itself is a form of character education and is a typical pesantren tradition. The research method used is Library Research with a qualitative approach. This study aims to examine the conception of character education of al-Ghazali and Tomas Lickona’s and its relation to the ta’dzim tradition at the Pesantren Al-Falah Ploso. The results showed that the ta’dzim tradition at the Pesantren Al-Falah Ploso was still well sublimated through divine values and human values. This is explained in detail in Al-Ghazali's conception of character education, namely to purify oneself (tazkiyat al-nafs) from despicable traits. Tazkiyat al-nafs is a way to get physical, spiritual, material and spiritual happiness, in this world and the hereafter. Meanwhile, according to Thomas Lickona, there are three important components in building character education, namely: Moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action.
