Abstract

Teachers are the most important source of learning while technology is the accelerator of learning in the classroom. Geogebra is one of the software used as an accelerator in the learning because of alignment as well as between algebra and visual representation of geometry. The use of Geogebra is done manipulation through the window provided so thatinteractive response can be captured quickly which can then be doneinterpretation. The advantages of using Geogebra is the ease of teachingand learning, and quick response in running the command so as to facilitate understanding a concept. This research method includes the type of applied research. The purpose of this study is to find out how much students ability in interpreting the graph of equations of straight line using Geogebra.Technique of collecting data of this research use written test documentation and interview. The results showed that 65% of students of grade VIII C SMPN 2 Kalibawang can reach values above 80.Keywords: garis, geogebra, interpretasi, persamaan, representasi

Abstract

The purpose of this research is how to connect ideas and real experiences with mathematical representation and to analyze how big portion of representationin national junior mathematics exam year 2014 until 2017. Representation ingeneral become an important part for learning mathematics of teacher andstudent in playing explanation about ideas Mathematics that is closely relatedto real experience. Forms of representation include representations of sketches,graphs, diagrams, tables, drawings, or modeling. The results of representationon the national junior mathematics exam from 2014 to 2017 show that imagerepresentation has the largest share of 25% to 35%. While the representationsin the form of sketches, graphs, diagrams, tables, and modeling is still below10%. Total representation of the national exam number of 55% to 60% or about22-24 questions from 40 junior high school mathematics exam questions. Inother words, more than half of the national mathematics exam is presented inthe form of representation. Keywords: examinations, experienced, idea, national, representation

Abstract

Incorporating manipulatives into math lessons in a meaningful way, helping students understand concepts more easily, and make teaching more effective. But in the field are still found many students who have not mastered the basic concept of algebraic form. Because of the importance of the use of physical manipulative in the learning of mathematics, in this study is limited in learning the form of algebra for class VII using the 2013 curriculum. The purpose of this paper is how to introduce algebraic form using physical manipulative as well as to know how much students' ability to understand the concept of variables, constants, coefficients, and write them in algebraic form. This research method is including best practice research.The subject of this research is the students of class VII B with the method of collecting data in the form of documentation in the form of written test and photo activity. Data were analyzed descriptively. The use of physical manipulative can be used in introducing algebraic form; the teacher introduces the concept of variables, coefficients, and constants such as using a bullet place, a bullet and a bullet. The result of the students' understanding about the variables, coefficients, constants, and writing algebraic forms is that 33% of students are categorized very well and 48% of students are categorized well.
