Abstract

The competency of secondary school principals needs to be developed. The development of school principals' competencies needs to pay attention to cultural aspects that develop in the surrounding community. This research was aimed to describe the school principal’s competencies according to National Education Ministry Regulation No. 13 (2007) about School Principal’s standard competencies and their competencies development based on the values of local wisdom. This piece of research was conducted quantitatively and qualitatively. The research samples were 30 school principals whom their schools were located in the regional of Mataraman cultures. Data was gathered by collecting questionnaires (open and closed questions) and also interviews. The data was analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of this study are as follows: first, the school principals have been good at social and personality competences, yet the managerial, entrepreneurial, and supervision competences were still in adequate level; second, school principals already comprehended the values of Sistem Among and some of them had been implemented them. However, they had not been comprehend the leadership values based on Asta Brata and Sastra Gending; third, most of leadership values were based on Asta Brata, Sistem Among, and Sastra Gending that were compatible to the school principals and used for developing their leadership.

Abstract

School leadership is a key factor in school management. The reality on the ground shows that preparing for principal is less than adequate. Therefore, it isnecessary to think about the principal's training model that can really preparethe principal so that the principal has the required competencies. During thistime the characteristics of effective school leadership more refer to the resultsof research and literature or foreign text. This is not bad. However, it isnecessary to develop leadership training modelsthat are based on local wisdomvalues.This study aims to produce a description of the problems and needs in schoolleadership and the values of local wisdom that are considered relevant to theleadership of the school. The survey was conducted on 28 principals fromYogyakarta, Central Java, and East Java.This study produces important conclusions that are (1) the order of difficultylevel of competence from the most difficult to the easiest, namely managerialcompetence, entrepreneurial competence, supervision competence, competenceto translate school values, personality competence, and social competence. and(2) are the three order of popularity of leadership values according toprincipals are Asta Brata, Among System, and Sastra Gendhing. Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effectiveness of the process oriented guided inquiry learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills and independent learning in economics subjects at SMA Pangudi Luhur Sedayu.This research is a classroom action research (CAR) with one action cycle conducted at SMA Pangudi Luhur Santo Louis IX Sedayu. The research subjects were 25 students of class XI IPA 1, while the objects of the study were the ability to think critically and study independently in economics. Data collection techniques using tests and questionnaires.The results of the data analysis show that: 1) the level of students' critical thinking skills before the application of the process oriented guided inquiry learning model is still quite critical; 2) the level of student learning independence before the application of the process oriented guided inquiry learning model was classified as less independent; 3) the application of the process-oriented guided inquiry learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills through a number of learning activities that condition students to carry out discussion activities in groups to encourage students to find new ideas and ideas, solve problems in a variety of ways; and 4) Application of the process-oriented guided inquiry learning model can increase student learning independence, where through flexible, collaborative and creative learning activities that allow students to study material independently, work on questions independently, and carry out discussions and communication among students with teachers more actively and flexibly.Keywords: critical thinking skills, independent learning, process oriented guided inquiry learning, classroom action research

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of body image and self-management on student ability to cooperate in economics learning.This research is explanatory study conducted in July-August 2022 in SMA BOPKRI 2 Yogyakarta. The research population were students of class XI IPS 1 and XI IPS 2 covered 44 students. The research sample was 44 students. The research sampling technique was saturated sampling technique. The data collection technique was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique was multiple linear regression.The results of data analysis showed that: (1) body image had no effect on student ability to cooperate; (2) self-management had effect on student ability to cooperate; and (3) body image and management could be predictors of student ability to cooperate.Keywords: body image, self management, ability to cooperate

Abstract

Depression in students is an emotional condition that lasts a long time and affects the thoughts, feelings, and behavior of students. Depression can make students feel down, lose interest and joy, and reduce their academic achievement. Depression can be triggered by various factors, such as family history, physical health problems, trauma or childhood experiences, and stressful life events. The solution that can be taken as an effort to prevent depression is to carry out positive education, which is an implementation of positive psychology. Seminars or community service events that raise the theme of positive psychology aim to educate educators in positive education, thus making them realize students’ happiness. Further, the educators are expected to help the students to be able to control or reduce their level of depression so that they can improve their academic achievement, and even better, for the future of the students themselves. In this community service, the stages conducted were data collection through opinion polls, discussions, and evaluations. Based on the results of the evaluation through questionnaires, the material presented was well received by the participants, and this activity succeeded in increasing their knowledge and insight into positive education as an implementation of positive psychology.
