<![CDATA[AbstractThis research is a classroom action research that lasted three cycles, each cycle consisting of one meeting . Subjectswere students of class XI MIA 5 SMA Negeri 1 Sleman totaling 25 students. Data collection techniques used werestudent observation , interview students and student learning outcomes .The results showed that the students of classXI MIA 5 has increased significantly over head serve ability after being given action by teachers and collaborators. In the first cycle level of ability by 64 % , and 9 students who have not reached the value 75 , the second cyclelevel of student ability by 72 % and there are 7 students who have not reached the value of 75 , and the cycle intothe third level of the ability of students increased by 88 % or there are 3 students who have not reached a value of75. It can be concluded that the ability of students in learning over head serve of volleyball can be improved throughTeam Games Tournament ( TGT ) method.Keyword: overhead serve, volleyball, Team Games Tournament (TGT)AbstrakPenelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang berlangsung tiga siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari satu pertemuan.Subyek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI MIA 5 SMA Negeri 1 Sleman yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Teknikpengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi siswa, wawancara siswa dan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas XI MIA 5 mengalami peningkatan kemampuan servis atas secara signifikan setelahdiberi tindakan oleh guru dan kolaborator. Pada siklus I tingkat kemampuan sebesar 64%, dan masih 9 siswa yangbelum mencapai nilai 75, pada siklus II tingkat kemampuan siswa sebesar 72 % dan masih ada 7 siswa yang belummencapai nilai 75, dan pada siklus ke III tingkat kemampuan siswa meningkat sebesar 88% atau masih ada 3 siswayang belum mencapai nilai 75.
