Abstract

ABSTRACTThe sediment suspension phenomena have a close something to do withthe watering field, the complexity of the existence of silt particles and clay in afluida which are continuously interact and the turbulence which was happenedhas a specific characteristic.The problems on the sediment suspension flow on the open channel wereapproached with experimental method, i.e. by conducting a direct measurementof the sediment recirculating flume in Hydrology and Hydraulics Laboratory inPAU UGM. To measure the concentration profile of sediment suspension carriage,it is used optical silt measuring instruments type Foslim-probe tools, while tomeasure the flow speed profile, it is used electromagnetic flowmeter probe settype VM-201 H tools and vector calculate equipment type DV-101 tools.From the measurement of 10 series of uniform flow suspensed sediment, itshows that the integration constant value, Br, from logaritmic rule tends to besmaller compared with the integration constant value, Br for pure water, i.e. Br=9. 110 +- 0.734. the integration constant value is affected by the sedimentsuspension concentration level which is showed by the fact that the raisingconcentration will cause the reduction of Br value. From the result of thecomputation, it shows that the coles wake parameterP for the suspensed uniformflow is P =0.085 with the constant value of Von Karman k =0.40 constant. Itshows that te sediment suspension effect will cause the value of P will be moreoppened, it is aggree with the result gained by Coleman (1986) which was saidthat the sediment suspension will cause the greater P value.Keywords: sediment suspension, uniform flow, open channel

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Pillar is a part of the structure under a bridge whose presence causes changes in the river flow patterns. The flow pattern changes resulted scours around the pil-lars. This study aims to determine the effect of the placement of the curtains one line at a bridge pillar on the local scour depth. This final project using the model as a tool pillar final observations with depth parameters and discharge the same water flow. With a height of 0.1 m of sand, 1:09 flow rate lt / sec. The test specimen using a round pipe with a diameter of 0.026 m, height pillars 0:25 am as a tool for testing. This test uses standard tilting flume belonging Hydraulics Laboratory of Education Department of Civil Engineering and Planning to include a pump. Tests carried one with a variety of shapes curtain bridge 1 line. Based on test results and discussion, it can be concluded the use of a safety curtain bridge piers arranged one straight line 29% more effective than in a sky-scraper without safety curtain. While the use of a safety curtain pillars arranged one curved line 25% more effective than in a skyscraper without safety curtain. If seen from the results of scour around bridge piers that occurred in each test. Keywords: pillar models, scour depth, variation curtain.    ABSTRAK   Pilar merupakan bagian struktur bawah jembatan yang keberadaannya menyebabkan perubahan pola aliran sungai. Perubahan pola aliran tersebut mengakibatkan terjadinya gerusan lokal di sekitar pilar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penempatan tirai satu baris pada pilar jembatan ter-hadap kedalaman gerusan lokal. Kajian  ini menggunakan model pilar sebagai alat pengamatan tugas akhir dengan parameter kedalaman aliran dan debit air sama. Dengan ketinggian pasir 0.1 m, debit aliran 1.09 lt/det. Benda uji ini menggunakan pipa bulat dengan diameter 0.026 m, tinggi pilar 0.25 m sebagai alat untuk pengujian. Pengujian ini menggunakan standard tilting flume milik Laboratorium Hidrolika Jurusan Pen-didikan Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan dengan dilengkapi sebuah pompa. Pengujian dilakukan satu kali dengan variasi bentuk tirai jembatan satu baris. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dan pembahasan, maka dapat diperoleh kes-impulan penggunaan tirai pengaman pilar jembatan ditata satu baris lurus lebih efektif 29% dibandingkan dengan pilar tanpa tirai pengaman. Sedangkan penggunaan tirai pengaman pilar ditata satu baris melengkung lebih efektif 25% dibandingkan dengan pilar tanpa tirai pengaman. Jika dilihat dari hasil gerusan di sekitar pilar jembatan yang terjadi pada masing-masing pengujian. Kata kunci: kedalaman gerusan, model pilar, variasi tirai.
