Abstract

As for the purpose of trading system in agricultural research activities are: (1) Identify the formation of channel trading system of smallholder rubber in Jambi province. (2) Knowing the achievement of operational efficiency in the trading system of smallholder rubber in Jambi province. (3) Analyze the market integration occurs in the trading system of smallholder rubber in Jambi province. Number of samples intermediary merchants at least 50 percent in each intermediate level ie village traders and wholesalers districts / counties. Quantitative analysis is used to assess the operational efficiency of rubber covering margin trading system trading system, the analysis section rubber prices received by farmers (farmer's share), the balance of benefit and cost analysis trading system institutions, and integration of the rubber market.Generally found three rubber trading system channels people are salauran I (farmers - rural traders - wholesalers - Crumb Rubber processing plant), channel II (farmers - traders village - processing plant), and channel III (farmers market - auction - factory Crumb Rubber processing). was oligopsoni with moderate to loose tightness levels. Operational efficiencies through the gum line auction market trading system in rural areas is higher than the traditional rubber trading system channels (intermediate traders rubber) based on differences in margin trading system, the prices received by farmers, and the balance of benefits and costs are taken institute rubber trading system. In the short term does not occur rubber market integration between farmers and the market rate or the rate of referral rubber processing plants, but in the long run market integration tends to be rubbery.Key word: Efficiency, Market, Rubber

Abstract

The exporters of Indonesian and Thailand tire products have the same capability in price mark-ups in the Malaysian market. The price mark-up capability of tire exporters from Indonesia, Thailand and China is greater than the domestic tire industry in the Philippines. However, China has a greater share of tire exports in the Malaysian and Philippine markets and is likely related to China's ability to be able to increase the export composition of various types of tires. Indonesia needs to encourage the domestic tire industry to increase the production capacity of various types of tires through investment and relocation of the tire industry to Indonesia amid the downward trend in China's manufacturing industry. Need to develop tire products for the types of trucks, buses, tractors and heavy equipment that are often used in the construction, agriculture, mining and cargo transportation ports to enlarge market share in Malaysia and the Philippines because Indonesia has competitiveness from the aspect of raw materials. The potential export of various types of tires in the two export destination countries is a challenge to increase the number of exports of Indonesian tire products.

Abstract

Natural rubber is an important commodity in the manufacturing industry and world trade. Natural rubber as a primary commodity is traded in larger quantities than processed rubber products, but with a smaller value. Several countries have become Indonesian traditional natural rubber markets such as the United States, Japan and East Asian countries as well as European Union countries. The purpose of the study was to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Indonesia's natural rubber import demand in the United States, Japan and European Union (EU-28) markets. The analysis uses the Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD) model to describe the behavior and demand curve for Indonesia's natural rubber imports (especially TSNR) before and during the covid-19 pandemic. The impact of the covid-19 pandemic caused a discontinuity of the demand curve for natural rubber imports in the period before and during the pandemic at the Cut-off point. Based on the estimation results of the RDD model, the magnitude of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the demand for Indonesian natural rubber in the main importing countries can be assessed. The results of the analysis show that the COVID-19 pandemic has reduced the number of requests for imports of natural rubber from Indonesia in the Japanese market by an average of 22.34 percent, the United States by 10.25 percent, and the EU-28 by 4.49 percent per month during the pandemic.

Abstract

How important is the impact of special allocation funds (DAK) on agriculture and irrigation as policy input in food production and food security in the regions. To answer these problems, a study was conducted with the objectives of: 1) formulating an economic model for lowland rice commodity related to the financing of special allocation funds (DAK) for agriculture and irrigation in Jambi Province; and 2) analysis of the impact of funding for the special allocation fund (DAK) for agriculture and irrigation on the area of irrigation, rice fields and food security in districts / cities in Jambi Province. The simulation results show that an increase in the supply of financing from special allocation funds (agriculture and irrigation) can have a positive impact on increasing resources (irrigation area), food production, and regional food security. In order to be more effective in allocating funds, it is advisable to synergize with the allocation of subsidized fertilizers and seeds in each district / city in Jambi Province. Besides being aimed at maintaining and repairing irrigation networks in several districts / cities, the DAK irrigation program needs to be expanded to develop small - medium scale irrigation models for potential wetlands (rainfed, swamp, tidal) for the production of rice and other food crops. The potential available land types require a suitable location-specific technology package for rice and other food crops. Likewise, the use of cheaper alternative inputs. Reorientation of programs funded by DAK for agriculture in each district / city in Jambi province is needed to achieve effectiveness and impact on increasing lowland rice production and food security in the regions. Keywords: Allocation Funds, Food Security, Irrigation, Paddy, Simultaneity Model

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between Jambi export with gross domestic capital formation, allocation of transfer funds, and private investment, based on the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The results show that, both in the short and long term, the gross domestic capital formation, allocation of transfer funds, and private investment can explain changes in Jambi exports. The gross domestic capital formation strongly influences Jambi's export fluctuations compared to other variables. There is a disequilibrium relationship in the short term, and it becomes equilibrium in the long run. Only 69 percent of export changes can be determined in the current period, and the rest is determined in other periods. Likewise, the gross domestic capital formation, only 38 percent, can be determined in the current period, and the rest is determined in other periods. Based on the impulse response function, the impact of export shocks has a large impact on itself. Shocks have a very significant impact and have a long lead to stable levels. Shocks can cause changes in Jambi exports to gross domestic capital formation. Shocks to the formation of gross domestic capital formation require a long time to reach a stable level.

Abstract

This research examines: 1) to what extent is the competitiveness of Indonesian palm oil, especially CPO and RPO in the Indian market compared to similar products from Malaysia; and 2) what factors determine the competitiveness of Indonesian CPO and RPO exports in the Indian market. The research method uses the RCA and RSCA indices as well as the regression function to determine the dominant factors that affect the competitiveness of Indonesian CPO and RPO exports in the Indian market with data ranging from 1995 to 2021. The competitiveness of Indonesian CPO exports in the Indian market shows a more stable trend in the period 1996 to 2021 and the competitiveness of Malaysian CPO in that period has decreased slowly. The competitiveness of Indonesian and Malaysian RPO exports in the Indian market decreased in the Indian market from 1996 to 2013, then there was a strengthening of competitiveness from 2014 to 2019. The competitiveness of Indonesian CPO exports to the Indian market is influenced by the volume of Malaysian CPO exports to India, the Indonesian CPO export tax, the CPO import tax in India, the real exchange rate of the Rupiah against the US Dollar, and the real price of CPO on the world market. Furthermore, the competitiveness of Indonesian RPO exports in the Indian market is influenced by the volume of Malaysian RPO exports to India, the real exchange rate of the Rupiah against the US Dollar, the export price of RPO, the price of soybean oil on the world market, and the RPO import tax in India.

Abstract

The research was conducted in Simpang Datuk Village, Nipah Panjang District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency with the aim of describing rice farmers' risk preferences, and the factors that determine farmers' participation in rice crop insurance (AUTP). The research method was conducted by survey. The research sample consisted of 20 farmers who took rice farming insurance (AUTP) and 43 farmers who did not take AUTP insurance from a population of 430 farmers. The method of analysis through simplification and tabulation is carried out, and logit regression is used to look at the factors that influence rice farmers to take rice farming insurance (AUTP). In general, rice farmers in Simpang Datuk Village have a risk averse preference. The risk preferences of farmers participating in AUTP are risk averse, while farmers who are not participating in AUTP show that they are not risk averse (risk takers). The variables of farmer age, duration of rice farming, and risk preferences significantly influence farmers' decisions to participate in the rice crop insurance program (AUTP) in Simpang Datuk Village, Nipah Panjang District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency.
