Abstract

This research was aimed to analyze the structure of zooplankton community; also to show the relationship of water quality in Hanjalutung Lake based on kinds of vegetation cover. The benefits of this research was it to provide information and recommendation in utilizing of Hanjalutung as business place of fishery cultivation. This research was conducted at waters of Hanjalutung Lake, District of Petuk Katimpun, Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan Province. This study was performed from February 2013 in rainy season (high water season) until August 2013 and dry season (low water season). The result of this research showed that water quality parameters were still in the range that can be tolerated by zooplankton. Zooplankton community in Hanjalutung Lake were dominated by small zooplankton of Rotifera Phylum. Most zooplankton were caught at zone IV, from Rotifera Phylum of Trichocerca. Overall the dynamics of zooplankton were significantly affected by water transparancy and pH.

Abstract

Tilapia fish has now become a commodity most widely cultivated by the people of Central Kalimantan, and especially the City of Palangka Raya. Where is widely cultivated species of fish in cages, ponds, even in tanks that deliberately in the yard. The success of Tilapia fish aquaculture in the peat water depends on the ability of fry in adapting to water turf. These adjustments must begin adjusting to survive until the adjustment to grow and multiply. These adjustment must be made through a particular treatment. In this case tilapia fry must conducted in long time. This acclimatization performed by mixing well water and peat water and expressed in different percentage. This study was conducted to find out the effect of the percentage of mixing peat water and well water as a medium for survival acclimatization tilapia fry. Percentage of peat water ideal in this study were in Group B and Group C with an average mortality reaches 0 %. While Group D was not good because the average mortality by nearly 100 %.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the rate of growth of Sangkuriang Catfish that kept in tarpaulin pond with the provision of probiotics EM4. This study used a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 3 treatment with 3 replications The treatments used in this study were :Treatment A = Dose EM4 given as much as 15ml/liter of water, Treatment B = Dose EM4 given as much as 10 ml/liter of water and Treatment C = not given EM4. The results of this study showed that better treatment were the treatment of A and B. While for the C treatment slightly inhibited for the growth of Sangkuriang Catfish. Water quality of tarpaulin ponds during the maintenance of Sangkuriang Catfish shows the condition of temperature, DO and pH that could still been tolerated and feasible for the growth of Sangkuriang Catfish. Key words : Sangkuriang Catfish, probiotic EM4, dose, tarpaulin pond, water quality.
