Abstract

PT XYZ has faced a problem related to its plastik material ordering system in which its quantity purchase order calculation result was so different with its manual calculation that its material logictic staff was needed to make a proper correction. Therefore, this research was taken in order to help the staff to analyze its root cause so that the proper improvement could be taken and the quantity purchase order calculation will be equal to its manual calculation. By deploying Kepner-Tregoe problem solving, the staff found that the difference was due to miss-managed algorthim of the system because the quantity purchase order that is still open was not considered in the calculation and after proper improvement was taken, then the quantity purchase order calculation is equal to the manual calculation.

Abstract

This paper evaluated the financial performance of ABC hospital within the period of 2012 to 2013. To overcome the problems faced by the hospital related to how to measure and presented its financial performance in which financial ratio analysis was undertaken. These financial ratios were employed to measure the liquidity, assets utilization, long-term solvency and profitability of the hospital. This analysis was conducted in order to prove whether the hospital has been managed efficiently or not in accordance to Indonesian Hospital Quality Accreditation as stated in its clause on Administration Standard No. 5 Parameter No. 3 that the hospital financial management shall be conducted in appropriate way in order to guarantee its operation efficiently. The result showed that overall financial performance of ABC hospital increased considerably in those two years of the analysis. A significant change was occurred on its solvency ratio which was decreased from -2% to -8%, indicating its loose dependency due to its founder’s strong financial support. Therefore, based on this favorable result, the hospital was regarded to have efficient hospital management and thus, together with other standard fulfillment, it was accredited by Indonesian Health Ministry.

Abstract

The goal of the research was to evaluate the effectiveness of Kirkpatrick model and Return on Investment of Training at PT XYZ. Observation was applied to this research. The result has shown several facts such as trainee’s feedback score was 4,62 above 4,10 as required by the company in terms of reaction, the average final exam score was 3,66 above 3,00 as required by the company in terms of learning, the trainees’ superiors’ feedback score was 3,53 above 3,00 as required by the company and Return on Investment of Training (ROI-Training) was 58,88% above 15% as required by the company. With these results, the company can conclude that the program is effective in nurturing its supervisory leaders.

Abstract

PT XYZ received an offer of toll manufacturing services from its client as much as 360 units at a price of Rp14.000 for four years. To be able to fulfill the offer, the company must issue an investment of Rp1,3 billion for the plant expansion regarding to the limited capacity and specificity of the engine that must be purchased separately. There is also some additional operational cost for the company. Based on the analysis of costvolume-profit (CVP) the company realized that the price offered is far below the desired corporate profit by 27% so that the new price agreed upon in the negotiation is Rp16.000. Meanwhile, using the price agreement and macroeconomic assumption for the next four years, the company can finally concluded to accept the offer of its client with a value weighted NPV up to Rp306, 5 million based on the incremental analysis.

Abstract

Nutrition Department of ABC Hospital provides food and beverage for all inpatients based on nutrition standard from their practioners. Therefore, Nutrition Department needs several types of cutlery for serving them food and beverage as needed. The stock of these types of cutlery should be maintained by nutrionists. During August and September 2011, the stock of middle-sized glasses had been deficit. This condition made the Nutrition Department initiate a QCC group named Sushi to prevent the deficit by strengthening the control over the stock. After this improvement, they had successfully suppressed the deficit from 193 to 77 units or 60.10%. Due to hospital regulation that every lost should be redeemed by nutritionist, this improvement had also enable the department to suppreesed the cost of lost units (quality cost).

Abstract

Manufacturing motorcycle unit in Plant 1 of PT ABC requires engine supply from Plant 2. This has some burden on the operating cost of Plant 1 and the opportunity loss as well due to delay of motor engine delivery. Based on the problem, team proposes additional engine line in Plant 1 to cut engine supply from Plant 2. Therefore, team analyzes this proposal using incremental analysis to determine whether the proposal is feasible or not by comparing before and after condition with result NPV about IDR 967 Billion and Payback Period under 1 year. By this result, team determines that this proposal is recommended to be approved by management.

Abstract

This paper intends to develop a model of Big Data Analytics (BDA) utilization in Indonesian context. This is important due to the lack of related research on what factors influencing company to adopt BDA as their strategic and somehow secret weapon to win in nowadays intensified competition among companies in industries. By the model, this paper aims to contribute additional knowledge on what factors influence company to adopt this emerging technology as part of their strategic action in winning the market. Thus, intended questionnaires are distributed to about 206 companies. However, only 124 responses can be gathered and proceed using Part-Least Square (PLS) Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and TOE Framework by adopting SmartPLS 3.0. By processing those data, two significant insights can be generated. First, BDA adoption in Indonesia is mainly encouraged degree of technology savviness, organizational readiness, and better anticipating environmental changes. Second, Organization readiness is also influenced by technology savviness and environmental changes anticipation. the company needs to master its technology which in Indonesia, compatibility and relative advantage could be significant issue. Thus, for those who want to adopt this emerging technology need to develop technology savviness and organization readiness while anticipate environmental changes.
