Abstract

This research aimed to show the language code choices of male abdi dalem of Karaton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat because each community had its own language code choice in their daily lives, including every individual. This research was a descriptive qualitative study conducted to determine the language code choice of abdi dalem Karaton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat. Data were taken using questionnaires. The form of questions used was closed questions to find out the language codes choice. In addition, the open questions were used to find out the reason for selecting particular language codes. The data were in the form of an informant’s answer about the choice of a language code and the reason for the selection. This research conducted in Karaton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat based from UU Republik Indonesia Nomor 13 Tahun 2012 concerning the DIY Specialities. It finds that the use of Javanese Kromo dominates the language code choice used by male abdi dalem. The dominance of the use of Javanese Kromo language is considered to be the most polite language code rather than other languages presented by the researchers in the questionnaires. The next order after Javanese Kromo is Indonesian, Javanese Ngoko, Bagongan, and lastly is a foreign language.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the typicality and uniqueness of master of ceremony ‘pambiwara`s’ language in the panggih temanten procession of Kahiyang Ayu and Bobby Nasution`s wedding ceremony in Surakarta. This research is a qualitative- descriptive with a stylistic approach. The data resources are the text of pambiwara`s speech in the panggih temanten procession of Kahiyang Ayu and Bobby Nasution`s wedding ceremony. The research data are an orthographic transcription of pambiwara`s speech, which is broadcasted live by national televisions. The scrutinizing technique was used to collect the information by scrutinizing the language use of pambiwara. In this context, scrutinizing techniques consist of extracting the uniqueness of language use, encompassing the uniqueness of speech sound and the typicality of morphology in the language of pambiwara. The data was then analyzed through scrutinizing technique and note-taking technique. The result of the research shows that pambiwara in the panggih temanten procession of Kahiyang Ayu and Bobby Nasution`s wedding ceremony has an aesthetic language use, which accentuates on the uniqueness and the typicality of speech sound and morphologic of language. (Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kekhasan bahasa pada bahasa pewara ‘pambiwara’ dalam upacara panggih temanten Kahiyang Ayu dan Bobby Nasution di Surakarta. Penelitian ini berbentuk deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan stilistika. Sumber data data tertulis yang berupa satu teks ‘pambiwara’ dalam upacara panggih temanten Kahiyang Ayu dan Bobby Nasution di Surakarta. Sumber data tersebut berupa sumber data lisan yang disampaikan oleh ‘pambiwara’ yang berasal dari informan. Data berupa transkipsi ortografis ‘pambiwara’ dalam upacara panggih temanten Kahiyang Ayu dan Bobby Nasution di Surakarta yang disiarkan langsung di TV nasional. Teknik dasar yang dipakai adalah menggunakan teknik simak, yaitu teknik mendapatkan data dengan cara menyimak penggunaan bahasa. Dalam hal ini menyadap analisis tentang kekhasan pemakaian bahasa meliputi kekhasan bunyi bahasa dan kekhasan morfologi bahasa dalam bahasa ‘pambiwara’, dan lanjutannya menggunakan teknik simak dan teknik catat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ‘pambiwara’ dalam upacara panggih temanten Kahiyang Ayu dan Bobby Nasution di Surakarta mempunyai keindahan bahasa yang berfokus pada kekhasan aspek morfologi bahasa.)

Abstract

This study aims to describe the uniqueness and uniqueness of the use of language style (sounds of language, morphology aspect, diction, and imaging) in pambiwara panggih temanten style Surakarta. In this research, the researcher uses descriptive qualitative by using stylistic approach. Sources of data in this study is a source of written data in the form of a text pambiwara Surakarta.  The data source is in the form of oral data source delivered by pambiwara from informants. The data in this research is orthographic transcription of pambiwara panggih temanten in Javanese Surakarta. The basic technique used by using the listening technique, it is obtained data by listening the use of language. In this research, the researcheruses stylistic analysis of sentences in the Javanes language, and also using listening techniques and record techniques. The results of this study shows that the temanten style Surakarta style has the beauty of the language text: (1) Sound beauty aspect (asonansi (purwakanthiswara), alliteration (purwakanthi sastra), repetition (purwakanthilumaksita), (2) Diction beauty aspect (usage of various tembung kawi, dasanama), (3) morphological beauty aspect (prefix, suffix, confix, dwipurwa / iteration), and (4) imagery to describe the bride.
