Abstract

The ability to cope with environmental stresses and to survive is adaptive. This is due to the changes that occur very rapidly due to the need to adapt according to the demands at the time. Improving the quality of learning is dynamic so that the quality of learning today is not the same as the quality of learning and even become expired on tomorrow. Several studies have shown that teacher quality is a prerequisite in achieving quality education. This can be done as early as possible to improve teacher candidates. Law No. 14 of 2005 states, the position of teachers as professionals, serves to enhance the dignity of the teacher as well as his role as a learning agent to improve the quality of national education. Being a professional science teacher candidates there are a number of basic competencies related to professional quality needs to be improved. One of them contained in the framework for 21st century learning, one is supporting innovation and creativity skills. The main issue in this article is: How to prepare prospective science teachers (IPA) to be able to respond to any changes in present and future as well as to effectively take advantage for the betterment of self, community, and nation. The main issue, the focus of this article is to prepare graduates perspective, especially in science education courses Faculty of Surabaya in adaptive skills to support 21st century skills terkaid innovation and creativity in the lecture biotechnology.

Abstract

Familiarize learners to communicate, think critically and creatively and to consider moral values of Pancasila is one Permendikbud 81 A mandate in 2013. The need for students to be exposed to high level thinking tests in Learning Science is to hone the skills of students at the high school level. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of student mastery and achievement test indicator junior high school students in East Java in resolving high level thinking tests of learning science. This study was conducted at 20, 23, and 28 November 2012 in three districts, there are: Blitar, Mojokerto, and Pamekasan. The population of this study were junior high school students in East Java with a sample of students SMP 3 Nglegok Blitar (15 peoples), SMP 2 Dlanggu Mojokerto (15 peoples) and SMP 7 Pamekasan (15 peoples) by using purposive sampling technique. Data sources such as student scores on the analysis of high-level thinking skills test developed by USAID Priority Team. Techniques of data collection conducted by researchers through the provision of test instruments to students, then corrected degree of truth answers based on predefined criteria. Analysis of data in quantitative descriptive data then qualitatived. The conclusions of this study are: competence Junior high school students in East Java in resolving high level thinking tests category learning science enough (enough with a mean value of C- with a score of 43.8) and achievement test results categorized good indicators, namely: (a) observation of characteristic Distinctive animals (75.6), and analyze the properties of liquid water (75.6).

Abstract

Penerapan IPA perlu dilakukan secara bijaksana untuk menjaga dan memelihara kelestarian lingkungan.  Pembelajaran IPA sebaiknya dilaksanakan secara inkuiri (scientific inquiry) untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir, bekerja, dan bersikap ilmiah serta mengomunikasikannya sebagai aspek penting kecakapan hidup. Oleh karena itu pembelajaran IPA menekankan pada pemberian pengalaman belajar secara langsung melalui penggunaan dan pengembangan keterampilan proses dan sikap ilmiah. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program pendidikan profesi guru terintegrasi berjumlah 32 orang. Sumber data berupa skor siswa hasil analisis tes keterampilan berfikir tingkat tinggi yang dimodifikasi dari Tim USAID Prioritas. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan oleh peneliti melalui pemberian instrument tes tulis dalam bentuk isian kepada mahasiswa, kemudian dikoreksi tingkat kebenaran jawaban berdasarkan kriteria yang telah ditetapkan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah: kompeten simahasiswa PPGT dalam menyelesaikan tes berfikir tingkat tinggi pembelajaran sains berkategori baik (dengan rerata skor 76,6). Namun demikian, terdapat pula ketercapaian indicator membuat kesimpulan data pengamatan denyut nadi per menit yang menunjukkan skor 56.3 dengan kategori cukup.Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berfikir tinggkat tingkat mahasiswa PPGT Unesa secara mayoritas sudah baik, tetapi masih diperlukan penguatan pada materi-materi tertentu.
