Abstract

This research was aims to analyze the students’ learning activity based on local wisdom using inquiry model on science subjects. The type of this research is descriptive-quantitatve. The object of this research is the 4th grade students of SDN Banjar Agung 4 with the total of 29 students. The instrument used in this research is observation sheets of students’ learning activities. The final result of this study is an analysis of student learning activity indicators using a local-wisdom based learning model that has been developed previously that obtained the average score of student learning activities is 76.2% with “Good” category and the average score of learning implementation is 96% well implemented. Keywords: local wisdom; inquiry model

Abstract

OPTIMIZING THE SWEET POTATOES’ POTENTIAL IN SINDANGKARYA VILLAGE, MENES SUB-DISTRICT, PANDEGLANG REGENCY. Sweet potato is one of the agricultural commodities that is suitable for cultivation in Sindangkarya village, Pandeglang Regency. Each year, Sindangkarya village produces 350 tonnes of sweet potato. However, the low price of sweet potato causes small income for the residents. One of the efforts to increase its selling value is processing sweet potatoes into various products such as sweet potato cake or various other processed products. The problem founded is that people do not have the knowledge and skills of sweet potatoes utilization. The purpose of this community service activity is to transfer knowledge and train the community skills in processing sweet potatoes so they will have a higher selling value and attract the buyers. This article concludes that Sindangkarya Village has a business potential that involves the participants, PKK Cadres, Posyandu Cadres and Youth Organization developing creative ideas to make valuable products and beneficial to the lives of Sindangkarya residents and can reduce unemployment.

Abstract

UTILIZATION OF SWEET POTATOES AS CATFISH FEED IN SINDANGKARYA VILLAGE, MENES DISTRICT, PANDEGLANG REGENCY. Sweet potatoes have the potential to be made into various processed, one of which is a source of carbohydrates in fish-feed. Every day there is an increase in the fish feeds' price without an increase in the selling price of cultivated fish, which is a problem faced by fish cultivators. So, the search for alternative feeds, namely natural feed that is cheap and easy to find, continues to be conducted to reduce production costs. Moreover, to reduce costs, the protein sources for feed are utilizing the cheap local raw materials of snail meat flour. This activity is expected to motivate the growth of independent fish feed groups from local raw materials and provide knowledge to the community to utilize village natural resources into products with selling value, in order to improve the community welfare. The activity begins with the first stage of activity preparation, the preparation of raw feed materials, coordination with the village and presenters, and schedule preparation. The second stage is socialization or counseling to villagers about the benefits of making fish feed independently and the stages of making catfish feed made of sweet potatoes and snails that contains good nutritional by Lecturer of the Fisheries Science Study Program, Muh. Herjayanto, S.Pi., M.Si. The third stage is training for Sindangkarya Villagers in making the fish feed made from sweet potato flour and snail flour independently accompanied by lecturers and students. Community service activities conducted in Sindangkarya Village can be said to have enough participation from the local community. A good response is shown by the counseling process that has run smoothly and actively asking questions, so the process of making fish feed made from sweet potato flour and snail flour can run well.
