Abstract

Student self-efficacy has been impacted by the change from online to face-to-face learning brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic. The goal of this study was to assess the class X students' degree of self-efficacy in learning mathematics for the academic year 2021–2022, at Colomadu Public High School in Karanganyar Regency. Research of this kind is qualitative. Questionnaires, interviews, and documentation were the methods used in this study to collect data. The class from which the research topic was drawn was class X MIPA 5. All of the students in class X MIPA 5 were given the questionnaire, and from the responses, a sample of 6 students was selected for in-person interviews using random and purposive sampling. The results showed that 11.11% or 4 students had a high level of self-efficacy. 66.67% or 24 students have a moderate level of self-efficacy and 22.22% or 8 students have a low level of self-efficacy. It can be seen from the mean classical self-efficacy score of 67.36%, the class X MIPA 5 SMA Negeri Colomadu, Karanganyar Regency, is included in the medium category.

Abstract

Students have different characteristics and backgrounds. One way for teachers to meet the learning needs of students who have different characteristics is to apply the Novick learning model. This research aims to increase student activity and learning outcomes through the Novick learning model on flat-sided geometric material. This research is classroom action research (PTK) with four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects in this research were 24 students in class VIII A of MTs Al Jauhar. The research results showed an increase in the weight value of student activities in the initial condition of 11 or 24,75 to 20 or 45,00% in cycle I, then increased to 27 or 60,75% in cycle II, and again increased to 35 or 97,22% in cycle III. Then from the results of the average value of the conditions initial 62,1 to 70,41 in cycle I, then increased to 73,75 in cycle II, and increased again to 85 in cycle III. This research appears to be a process of increasing activity and results from student learning from before the action, after the action in cycle I, cycle II, and cycle III in learning using the Novick learning model in the classroom after going through 3 cycles. The results of this research state that there is an increase in student activity and learning outcomes when implementing the Novick learning model.

Abstract

This article presents a community engagement-based research initiative aimed at enhancing numeracy competence among senior high school teachers in Indonesia through a cybernetic pedagogy framework. Conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Nguter, the program combined theoretical workshops, digital tool integration, and cross-disciplinary lesson design to empower teachers in embedding numeracy across various subjects. A mixed-methods approach—comprising pre- and post-tests, structured mentoring, classroom observations, and reflective journals—revealed significant improvements in teachers' conceptual understanding, pedagogical confidence, and instructional practices. The findings demonstrate that cybernetic-based teaching fosters interactive, data-driven learning environments and supports numeracy as a transversal 21st-century skill. This study contributes empirical insights into scalable, cross-national professional development models that can be adapted in resource-constrained educational contexts
