Abstract

Bunguran Besar Island in the Natuna Islands, Riau Islands Province, is dominated by a lowland topography with a sloping to steep morphological condition. In general, the plains on the island of Bunguran Besar have a plains topography with altitudes ranging from 5- 30 meters above sea level, and the highest altitude is on Mount Ranai, 920 meters above sea level. This condition causes environmental problems, especially on the plains that form basins with geodes that affect the condition of easily polluted groundwater resources influenced by the presence of shallow and close to the surface groundwater (aquifer). The condition of the aquifer, which is shallow and relatively close to the surface, has the potential for groundwater contamination by polluting sources. This study aims to determine the potential spatial groundwater pollution using the SINTACS method hydrogeological approach based on this background. The SINTACS method is a vulnerability approach by assigning a value and weight to each parameter or triggering the vulnerability. The primary data used for the vulnerability assessment were phreatic groundwater depth, soil texture, and slope. Meanwhile, the parameters of the infiltration conditions, the aeration conditions of the rocks, the compiler of lithology, and the hydraulic conductivity (K) or the passing of water in the rock were obtained from the secondary data approach. The scenario of groundwater pollution vulnerability uses the normal scenario impact approach. It is known that the condition of low vulnerability is 28% or an area of 486 km2, medium vulnerability is 20% or an area of 343.8 km2, high vulnerability is 0.04% or an area of 0.7 km2, and very high vulnerability is 52% or an area of 898.7 km2. In general, the condition of vulnerability in Bunguran Besar Island is very high.

Abstract

The quality of coastal ground water on small islands has characteristics that are influenced by environmental and area factors. Yeben Island is a small island with an area of 0.57 km2 with priority coastal and marine tourism areas in the islands of Raja Ampat. This study aims to (1) analyze levels of ground water quality parameters and (2) analyze water samples against water quality standards. Groundwater samples taken as many as 4 samples from the study location. The location of water samples is in the morphology of the coastal plain. The analysis of each physical and chemical parameter of each groundwater sample is carried out by comparing the value of drinking water quality standards. The results are presented in a comparison table of quality standards and a graph of scaled values.Based on the results, the laboratory shows that it exceeds the quality standard of physical elements and chemical elements including fluoride, hardness, sulfate and organic substances. In general, the quality of water is poor. Poor ground water quality occurs due to the influence of sea water intrusion.Kualitas air tanah pesisir di pulau kecil memiliki karakteristik yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor lingkungan dan luasan. Pulau Yeben merupakan pulau kecil dengan luas 1,3 km2 dengan prioritas kawasan pariwisata pesisir dan bahari di kepulauan Raja Ampat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis kadar parameter kualitas air tanah dan (2) menganalisis sampel air terhadap baku mutu air. Sampel air tanah yang diambil sejumlah 4 sampel dari lokasi kajian. Lokasi sampel air berada pada morfologi dataran pantai. Analisis setiap parameter fisik dan kimia masing-masing sampel air tanah dilakukan dengan perbandingan nilai standar baku mutu air minum Hasil penelitian disajikan dalam tabel perbandingan baku mutu dan grafik nilai berskala. Berdasarkan hasil laboratorium menunjukkan melebihi baku mutu unsur fisik dan unsur kimia antara lain fluorida, kesadahan, sulfat dan zat organik. Secara umum kualitas air termasuk buruk. Kualitas air tanah yang buruk terjadi dikarenakan oleh pengaruh intrusi air laut.

Abstract

Carrying capacity of the environment is a condition of the physical ability of the environment to be utilized and manageable to meet the needs of life and development of an area. Water resources are a basic need for human activities and living things around them. The environmental carrying capacity of the supply factor in the form of clean water is part of the strategic steps for environmental management and protection in the Anambas Islands. The study aims to determine the level of environmental carrying capacity of clean water supply factors. The study was conducted using the ecosystem service method. The parameters used for the calculation of carrying capacity are the ecoregion which provides information on the physical condition of the landscape with the same characteristics and characteristics, the land cover which provides corrections to land-based economy activities and hydrogeological conditions, which provide information on the availability of groundwater and the potential for water productivity. The three environmental data scores and weight values are graded using the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and then are calculated linearly for all these variables, resulting in an environmental services index value. The value of environmental services is grouped into five classes, so it is known that the environmental carrying capacity of clean water providers on Siantan Island is 32.9% very high carrying capacity, 1.36% high carrying capacity, 6.2% medium carrying capacity, low carrying capacity 21 %, and the carrying capacity is very low 38.5%. In general, the environmental conditions of clean water providers on Siantan Island are very low.
