Abstract

Transportation infrastructures serve as one of the preconditions to improve a regions’ economy. Transportation infrastructure may influence regional economic growth as well as the regions surrounding it. The objective of the current study is to analyze the influence of these infrastructures towards economic activity growth (total units, workers, and sector production) of a region as well as the regions surrounding it. Analysis is also conductedtowards a number of policies of which act as basis for decision making concerning transportation infrastructure development in a region. The area of study consists of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi or commonly referred to as JABODETABEK area. Time series data is used from the period1990- 2006, and encompassing 4 economic activities including trade, transportation, home-construction and industry. Together with the data model, estimations are made by using Two Stages Least Squares (2SLS) prediction methods. A simulation model is then subsequently used with the SIMNLIN procedure. The results of the simulation demonstrate that toll infrastructure investments in each region generally elevate regional economic growth (PDRB) and its surroundings, except for Bekasi. Conversely, road investment policies generally reduce PDRB growth in a region. Moreover, the results of the simulation indicate that the impacts of tolldevelopment increases growth in the home-construction sector in almost all regions.Conversely, policies to increase road investments would reduce growth in the homeconstruction sector in all regions. Keywords: Transportation infrastructure, interregional linkages, economic growth and JABODETABEK area

Abstract

A study has been conducted in Riau Province in 2016 - 2018. One of the objectives of this research is to provide alternative policies for the regional government of Riau Province to encourage regional economic growth. The system of simultaneous econometric modeling is used and estimated by the method of Two Stage Least Squares and SIMNLIM method for simulation using 33 years time series data (1984 - 2016). The results showed that the alternative policy of increasing 10% tax revenue increased local revenue by 8.32% and government expenditure by 0.43%. Conversely, an increase in tax revenues has an impact on reducing public consumption by 0.10%, which in turn decreases RGDP by 0.01%. However, the decline in RGDP did not contribute to the decline in investment. The accumulated impact of the decline in consumption and the increase in private investment caused public savings to increase by a relatively small 0.03% so that the interest rate dropped 0.27%. The impact of the decline in RGDP caused the demand for money to decline by 0.04%. Keywords: tax revenue, the impact of change, regional economic growth, economic fluctuations, short term

Abstract

The Aspen Residence Tower D project is considered to have significant occupational risk due to the high complexity of the building, which consists of 23 floors and 2 basements (25 floors total), while Towers A, B, and C are already occupied. Construction activity near active residents increases the risk of work-related accidents. This research uses the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard for risk analysis, combining preliminary surveys and questionnaires to identify, assess, and prioritize risks. The Bowtie method is used to analyze major risks with moderate to extreme levels. The study found three risks in the "moderate" category (dust pollution, burns, UV exposure), seven in the "high" category (pinched hand, chain block injuries, pinched feet, scratches, electric shocks, eye injuries, gas exposure), and two in the "extreme" category (falling precast, worker falling from height). These extreme risks were analyzed in detail to determine causes, impacts, and controls. Keywords: Risk analysis, Occupational accident, Likelihood, Severity, Risk matrix, Bowtie method

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to identify the extent to which employee competence and work discipline affect service quality at Hotel XYZ Depok. In the hospitality industry, service quality is a strategic aspect that heavily depends on the role of human resources. This study employs a quantitative approach with an associative design to analyze the relationships among variables. The research involved 128 hotel customers selected based on their direct experience in receiving services, using a questionnaire measured with a 5-point Likert scale. The instrument testing results indicate that all items are valid and reliable, as shown by Cronbach’s Alpha values exceeding 0.6 for all variables. Furthermore, multiple linear regression analysis was applied with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics version 30 to obtain hypothesis testing results.Employee competency showed a significant positive influence on employee service quality (β = 1.213; t = 7.555; p < 0.001). Work discipline also had a significant positive influence (β = 0.578; t = 5.669; p < 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables significantly influenced employee service quality (F = 203.157; p < 0.001) with a coefficient of determination R² = 0.765, explaining 76.5% of the variance in employee service quality. The contribution of this research provides understanding for hotel management to improve service quality through employee competency development and work discipline strengthening as an effective operational strategy.
