Abstract

The aim of the study was to know the influence of three kinds of wood sawdust as planting media and P. fertilizer on the growth and yield of white champignon  (Pleurotus ostreatus). The study was cuonducted in a mold hut at Tanjung Mulia Hilir, Medan, at 25 meters above sea level, from April to July 2012. A Factorial Complete Randomized Design (CRD) was used with 2 factors, namely wood (rubber, mindi and durian), each was mixed with bran (“dedak”), calcium and gypsum, and phosphate fertilizer SP 36 at four level, namely (0 kg; 0,5 kg; 1 kg; and 1,5 kg/ 100 kg planting medium). Parameters observed were harvest age, stalk length, diameter of umbrella, umbrella thickness, number of umbrella per cluster, fresh weight per champignon, fresh weight champignon per baglog and biological efficiency ratio (BER). Result showed that sawdust from different wood significantly affected stalk length, diameter of umbrella, umbrella thickness, number of umbrella per cluster, fresh weight per champignon, fresh weight champignon per baglog and biological efficiency ratio (BER). Phosphate fertilizer significantly decreased all parameters. There were significant interaction effect on harvest age, umbrella diameter and thickness, number of umbrella per cluster and fresh wight per champignon.   Keywords: white champignon, wood sawdust as planting media, phosphate fertilizer

Abstract

The Response of Growth and Yield of  Four Soybean Varieties (Glycine max L.) to The Shading Levels,The aim of the study was to obtain the effect of soybean seed size on the  shading levels for growth and yield of soybean (Glycine max L.) The study was conducted at Tanjung Selamat village at 57 metres above sea level, from April to July 2012. The  split plot design was used two treatment, namely shading level  a N0 (no shading), N1 (shading 20%), N2 (40% shading), and N3 (60% shading) as main plot and four varieties V1 (Anjasmoro), V2 (Burangrang), V3 (Wilis), and V4 (Rinjani) as sub plot. The results showed that shading level significantly affected germination percentage, plant height 2-5 Weeks After Planted, number of branches, number of chlorophyll, total leaf area, number of  fill pods, and production per  twelve plants. The soybean varieties significantly affected plant height ages 2-5 Weeks After Planted, number of chlorophyll, number of branches, flower initiation, number of fill pods, production per twelve plants, and weight of 100 seeds. Interaction of two treatments significantly affected production per twelve plants.   Keywords: soybean, shade, and varieties

Abstract

Farm waste recycling have a role in prevent cause of environment pollute, and in other side canincrease of plant production. One thing which real enough that a lot of farm waste can changebecame organic fertilizer. This reasearch is proposed to find out effect of growth and productionresponse of mustard ( Brassica juncea L. ) as guano and rabbit urine given. The research startedfrom november 2011 until january 2012. The design use randomized block design factorial with 2aspect. The first aspect is guano consist of four stages those are G0 ( 0 g/plant ), G1 ( 4 g/plant ), G2( 8 g/plant ), G3 ( 12 g/plant ). The second factor is rabbit urine consist four stages those are U0 ( 0ml/L water ), U1 ( 20 ml/L water ), U2 ( 40 ml/L water ), U3 ( 60 ml/L water ). Guano givenperform real effect to plant height, number of leaf, leaf area, fresh weight per plant, dry weight perplant, production per plot, but not gave any influenced to production per hectare and harvest index.Rabbit urine given perform real effect to plant height, number of leaf, leaf area, fresh weight perplant, dry weight per plant, production per plot, but not gave any influenced to plant height at 2MST, number of leaf 2 MST, production per hectare and harvest index. The interaction betweenboth aspect influenced on plant fresh weight, dry weight, production per plot but not gave anyinfluenced to plant height, number of leaf, production per hectare and harvest index.Key word : guano, rabbit urine, mustard, growth and production

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth response of ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) On the provision ofshade and some farming techniques. Implemented in the district land Labuhan Deli, Deli Serdang regency inOctober 2011 until March 2012. The study uses a separate plot design (RPT) is played with 2 main plotconsisting of shade and without shade. Sub plot consists of 3 level ie beds, baskets and polybag. The resultsshowed that shade significantly affect plant height MAP (Moon after plant) aged 3 and 4 MAP, number oftillers and number of leaves MAP ages 2 and 4, the distance between the tiller and rhizome wet weight / plantage 4 MAP. Farming techniques significantly affect plant height MAP aged 3 and 4, the number of tillers andnumber of leaves aged 2, 3 and 4 MAP, the distance between two MAP tiller, rhizome weight per plant age 4MAP. Interaction of shade treatment and farming techniques significantly affect the number of chicks aged 3and 4 MAP, number of leaves 2 and 3 MAP, and weight per plant ginger rhizome age 4 MAP. But did notsignificantly affect the number of puppies aged 2 MAP, the number of leaf age 4 MAP, distance anatar tiller 2,3 and 4 MAP and MAP age 4 diameter rods.Key words : ginger, shade, planting techniques
