Abstract

The study aims to prove empirically the determinants of the performance of the net interest margin (NIM) ratio of banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2005-2015 using the fixed effect panel data regression method with eleven banks selected as research samples. The results of the study found that the NPL, LDR, ROA, SBI, and Exchange Rate ratio significantly affected the NIM ratio performance. From the variables that significantly influence, the exchange rate variable is the most dominant variable, while the NPL ratio variable is the variable with the smallest influence. All independent variables, which consist of; CAR, NPL, LDR, BOPO, ROA, SBI, inflation, and exchange rates simultaneously affected the ratio of banking NIMs listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2005-2015 significantly. Individually, the bank with the most sensitivity to changes in the NIM ratio is Bank International Indonesia Tbk (BII), while the least sensitive is Bank Victoria Indonesia Tbk (BVI)

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in the local economy, yet many still face challenges in financial management, particularly in bookkeeping practices. This community engagement program aimed to enhance the financial bookkeeping capacity of Dodol Nanas Rosnah, an MSME based in Dumai, through training, the development of simplified bookkeeping formats, and hands-on implementation assistance. The methods employed included initial observation, basic accounting training, daily transaction recording support, and evaluation of bookkeeping outcomes. The results showed significant improvement in the owner's understanding and ability to record financial transactions and prepare simple financial reports. The business owner also began to recognize bookkeeping as a critical tool for decision-making and business development. Despite challenges such as limited digital literacy and time constraints, the program had a positive and sustainable impact. Similar initiatives are recommended to support other MSMEs in strengthening their financial management systems.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of local MSME actors in developing attractive, informative, and locally inspired packaging for pineapple chips products. The program was implemented with the Tugu Mandiri Farmers Group in Medang Kampai District, Dumai City, which has long faced challenges in packaging design and product identity. Using a participatory approach, the activities included observation, training, mentoring, and evaluation, allowing participants to engage directly in creating packaging designs that reflect local Malay cultural elements and regional color identities. The results showed significant improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in producing visually appealing and marketable packaging. The final product, branded “Keripik Nenas”, represents local innovation ready to compete in regional markets. Overall, this program strengthened awareness of innovation, professionalism, and cultural identity in business practices while promoting Dumai City as a center of creative, culturally based local industries
