Abstract

The objectives of the study were to investigate the students’ attitude toward the use of googletranslator, the students frequency of using google translator in learning process and problemswhen using GT and solutions. This study was a case study. The population of this study wasall students of English Education Department of Baturaja University. The researchers usedtotal sampling to take the sample , the sample was all the students of English EducationDepartment. The data collected through the questionnaire and interview. The result of thestudy showed that students’ attitude toward the use of google translator in leaning process werein positive category. The students responses on the attitude aspect were on interval 41% -100% that included in positive attitude. The data of the frequency of GT showed that the meanscore was on 2.34 – 3.66 that means on moderate level. In addition, the result of questionnaireasking about the problems of using GT showed that using GT was not always correct, thesolutions that students found were double check the result of GT. The next problem was aboutsignal which make students cannot access GT and the solutions were using their own effort totranslate it such as using dictionary or another resources.

Abstract

The Problems of the study concerned with whether or not the students’ need English for specific purposes in reading. In addition, the study was done to find out the student’s need in reading comprehension. Total sampling method was used to take the sample. The sample was 11 students from the eighth grade in academic year 2019/2020. A Descriptive method was used in this study. The writer used questionnaires and documentation in collecting the data. The result of study from view of Target needs (necessities) showed that 72.8% claimed that they hope that learning English could support their future works. The result of target needs showed that 45.5% were in beginner level. 81.8% want to be able to master both general vocabulary and Islamic world terms. Moreover, the result of learning needs, input in reading comprehension 72.7% claimed that reading can add English vocabulary. From procedure in reading, 54.5% said that they were agree with arranging random paragraphs or sentences into a correct or logical paragraph sequence of sentence. Next, 90.9% students wanted to do the study outside the classroom, 45.5% claimed that they were strongly agree with activity in discussing and being active in investigation. The last, 54.5% students were strongly agreed that teachers must create an active atmosphere to solve problems and doing assignment.

Abstract

Pandemic of covid 19, sucessfully change education system in the world. Face to face system has already been changed to online system. There are many challenges for the tachers to use this system because not all students are ready to use this method. Online system does not become problematic problem for students in level of senior high school and university. But for the level of kindergarten, elementary and junior high school online system create new problems. Traditional teachers who are not accustomed to teaching online only give the students tasks without explaining anything. Hence the students become more and more confuse with the lesson. The purpose of this paper is to explain reasons why teachers crativities are needed in online classes, especially for traditional teachers who ought to cope with this problem. In addition, teachers have to upgrade their knowledge in order to adapt with unhappy situation. Moreover, some explanations about the strategies of online teaching are also clarified

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the students perceptions on the use of e-book as learning sources at the sixth semester students of English Education Study Program of Baturaja University.The population of the research was 22 students majoring in English study program. The writer took 22 students by using total sampling.This study used descriptive qualitative method and the data was collected by using questionaire. The questionnaire consists of 20 items in the form of five likert scale. The result of the study showed that 92.90% students had positive response and support e book as learning sources. It indicated that e book was easy to use. By using e book the both students and lecturers can improve their creativity.
