Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the integrated farming system in a conservation-based highland and dryland agroecosystem zone between plants and livestock. The method of determining the sample used in the study was random with a sample size of 36 farmers. The data used in this study were collected through observation techniques, interview techniques, and desk study. The data then was examined through (1) analysis of revenues and revenues, and (2). Analysis of business feasibility. The result shows that from the results of economic analysis of integrated farming based on Conservation in Netpala village, North Molo sub-district, Timor Tengah Selatan district (TTS) with an average land area of 1 ha, the total cost needed was Rp. 27,550,000. IDR 84,600,000, and income of IDR 57,050,000 per planting season. With an R / C ratio of 2.07.

Abstract

Strategy of dryland farm management in improving food security in East Nusa Tenggara; One of the promising opportunities but often to be neglected is the use of arable dryland suitable for food crops production, The potential of available dryland agroecosystems is quite extensive and technically suitable for agriculture. The potential land will be able to produce sufficient food if managed using effective technology and appropriate development strategies. Strategies for utilizing potential dry land are: 1) emelioration measures to improve soil quality by utilizing in-situ local resources 2) increased land productivity and sustainable commodity production of dry land sustainably, and 3) rain harvesting  technology, and 4) improvement of economic infrastructureKeywords: Dryland, land management strategy, food security

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of the Integrated Farming System (IFS) model on conservation farming with Hedgerow Technology which is applied in the Netpala village highland region to land productivity and interactions between components in the system. The study wascarried out in the Agroecosystem Zone V, Netpala plateau, Mollo Utara District, TTS. The method used is the experimental method, through an on-farm research approach together with farmers. The results of the study showed that the conservation farming IFS model with Hedgerow technology could be developed in this region and positively correlated with agricultural productivity and income, ecologically, socio-culturally and economically. Positive interactions are indicated by an ecological and economic feasibility assessment. Economically indicated by the value of B / C ratio> 1 (2.07), which means that the IFS model has economic value and is worth developing. Abstract

Angka kematian bayi dan ibu melahirkan di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) masuk dalam kategori tinggi. Beberapa kasus banyak dijumpai di daerah-daerah pedesaan yang minim fasilitas sarana dan prasarana kesehatan serta pengetahuan tentang gizi. Berbagai upaya penanganan gizi berimbang tidak hanya diusahakan dari rumah sakit tetapi mulai digiatkan sampai pada unit terkecil yaitu Pos Pelayanan Terpadu (Posyandu) agar mempunyai kemampuan dalam penjegahan dan penanganan gizi buruk. Tujuan kegiatan IbM Posyandu Bosen yaitua optimalisasi pemanfaatan potensi alam yang ada di sekitar lingkungan, dan memperkaya kreatifitas pengolahan aneka produk untuk konsumsi dengan : 1) Penerapan optimalisasi budidaya pekarangan sekitar rumah seperti vertikultur sayuran dan biofarmaka serta pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik, 2) sosialisasi nutrisi dan pelatihan olahan makanan menu keluarga dan produk berdaya simpan panjang dengan tetap mempertahankan kandungan gizinya, dan 3) pelatihan pembukuan rumah tangga, Target utama dari kegiatan ini adalah semua ibu balita pada Posyandu Kolsa dan Makmur beserta kader. Berdasarkan observasi yang telah dilakukan, dari keseluruhan mitra sekitar 80% mitra mampu terampil, dan mandiri dalam menerapkan pola hidup sehat dan teknik bertanam secara vertikultur sayuran dan biofarmaka ramah lingkungan yang bebas limbah, sikap positif dan motivasi yang tinggi selama mengikuti kegiatan IbM, yang ditunjukkan kehadiran dan minat mitra pada setiap diskusi, pelatihan, dan kegiatan monitoring.
