Abstract

One of the phenomena in modern society now because of the increasing use of internet is cybersex. The negative effects of cybersex are prostitution, cyber crime, child abuse and pornography. As the most accessed generation of the internet allows millennials to get involved in cybersex activity. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to get an idea of the current millennial-generation cybersex behavior. The research used survey method with quantitative approach. The results concluded that most of the respondents performed offline sexual activity (masturbation, sex, and oral sex) during the last 6 months. It was also revealed that most respondents had sex offline with boyfriends, close friends, strangers without marriage bonds. As for cybersex activity, most respondents do it everyday as much as one to two times a week at home. The purpose of doing cybersex is mostly out of curiosity, as entertainment and recreation. Most respondents in doing cybersex activity by porn sites, the rest to have sex conversations (sex chatting), download pornography and access multimedia/software sex. Other findings say respondents also confessed to having sex conversations with boyfriends, spouses, close friends and new people and meeting face-to-face with someone who previously only met online for sexual purposes.

Abstract

The disclosure of various cases of online prostitution in recent years by the police shows that this industry is becoming a trend in online media. Whereas in Indonesia prostitution remains an illegal business and a crime regulated in the KUHP and the ITE Law. The purpose of this study is to obtain an overview of the trends in the commercial sex services industry on social media. The research method is literature study. The results show that the development of e-commerce in general dominates the world market is directly proportional to the development of the commercial sex service industry in online media. The system of selling sex services has changed from conventional systems to modern markets, namely in information, financial and service transactions. Online prostitution information transactions on social media are very open. It can be seen from the services offered, prices, payment methods, rules for using services to customer testimonials. Payment transactions are also more practical and profitable because the process uses a transfer system to the account of the service provider. Although there are still those that impose direct cash payments at the service execution location. Internet technology makes it possible to run a business, promote, increase the income of actors, and reach a wider market. Prospective users can also order services directly through social media/online booking sites without having to go to localization. This is what makes the online sex service industry never die.

Abstract

Masalah Covid-19 tidak hanya berhubungan dengan penyebaran virus semata, tetapi juga diikuti dengan penyebaran informasi Covid-19 yang semakin masif baik yang akurat maupun tidak. Inilah yang disebut dengan ‘infodemik’. Infodemik memiliki dampak besar bagi masyarakat yang sehari-hari menggunakan media baru untuk mendapatkan informasi yang kredibel. Kini masyarakat menjadi bingung di tengah banjir informasi hoaks. Peta hoaks penting dilakukan, agar masyarakat paham dan semakin kritis membedakan konten, sumber dan saluran hoaks. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang peta infodemik khususnya hoaks Covid-19 tahun 2020. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis isi kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian penyimpulkan bahwa tema kesehatan adalah tema hoaks terbanyak yang beredar dengan tipe konten menyesatkan serta melibatkan masyarakat lokal sebagai aktor utama konten. Bentuk hoaks umumnya gabungan dari teks, gambar/foto dan video. Dan kebanyakan teks hoaks juga dilengkapi lampiran gambar untuk meyakinkan publik. Sementara Facebook adalah media sosial yang paling banyak digunakan dalam distribusi hoaks. Hasil tindak lanjut adalah mayoritas konten sudah dibantah atau diklarifikasi oleh tim pemeriksa fakta dengan menyertakan bukti terpercaya. Hal ini memudahkan masyarakat membedakan konten hoaks atau bukan.

Abstract

Covid-19 became the biggest non-natural disaster in the world in 2020. It first broke out in Wuhan, China, and then spread to other countries including Indonesia. The public is in uncertainty and receives a lot of information about Covid-19 through various media. This condition is exacerbated by the spread of hoax related to Covid-19 which is difficult to contain. The purpose of this study was to analyses society's behavior related to the spread of the Covid-19 hoax. This research uses a survey method with a quantitative approach. The results of the study concluded that respondents' knowledge about Covid-19 and hoax was very adequate. However, most respondents are hesitant and are in a position that can sometimes distinguish hoax, sometimes not because of the large amount of information obtained every day. The public panic at Covid-19 caused hoax to continue to be spread in the hope that the information could be useful in preventing and treating. While the respondents did not spread Covid's-19 hoax, because they considered the information to be incorrect, not useful, and harmful to the health of others, and they wanted to break the chain of hoax distribution to themselves.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparison of SARA (racial/religional) issues sentiment between online news portal and social media. The sentiment analysis method has been applied in this study, by using IMM application during the period of 2018. The results concluded that either in online news portal or social media, SARA issues sentiment have been detected positively during January to August 2018. Generally, negative sentiment on social media tend to be higher compared to online news portal. This condition related to the nature of social media that allows its user to express their opinion freely. The highest percentage of negative sentiment on social media found in January 2018, while it happened a month later in the news portal. It shows that in certain conditions, social media could be more responsive regarding social issues compared to online news portal. Delay response in news portal mainly caused by editorial process and hierarchy system on responding an issue. The initial issue usually has brought up by social media, that followed by news portals in formal manner.
