The victory of Jokowi and Basuki Tjahaya Purnama (Ahok) in the 2012 Jakarta election has marked an important stage in the development of political marketing on contemporary Indonesian politics. Social media provides a great influence in this election. Social media became an effective tools to organize people and mobilize voters. In the era of political personalization after the authoritarian New Order, mix-mediated political marketing which combine social media, mass media, and traditional political marketing can be an alternative strategy for the candidate or political party to win the election.

Artikel ini menceritakan tentang sepakbola tidak bisa dilepaskan dari suporter, dalam kasus Persatuan Sepakbola Sleman (PSS) terdapat dua wajah dan sayap pendukungnya yang melakukan pertarungan. Wajah hijau “Slemania” mewakili sayap suporter lama yang dianggap konservatif dan wajah hitam “Brigata Curva Sud” mewakili sayap suppoter baru yang dianggap progresif daripada pendahulunya. Keduanya sama-sama berada di belakang gawang utara dan selatan, menyuarakan dukungan untuk tim sepakbola yang sama pula. Pertarungan identitas dan ruang keduanya tidak sekedar hanya terlihat saat digelarnya pertadingan. Pertarungan identitas dan ruang terus berjalan di arena publik lain seperti di kampung-kampung pendukungnya. Ketika konglomerat media berhasil membuat pesan media menjadi homogen dan mengabaikan kepentingan umum, kemuncula teknologi internet membuka kemungkinan akan kemunculan media alternatif. Keadaan ini kemudian menciptakan banyak media alternatif seperti Mojok.co. Meskipun awalnya media ini tidak sengaja dibuat sebagai media satire, dalam perkembangannya Mojok.co menjelma menjadi medium yang mempelopori penulisan satir di Indonesia. Mojok.co yang dikelola oleh para penulis muda yang antusias menunjukan bahwa generasi millenial yang selama ini dianggap apolitis, ternyata mampu merespon isu-isu sosial dan politik dengan gaya komunikasi mereka sendiri.

This article discusses the working conditions and vulnerabilities young journalists face in Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic. Drawing on in-depth interviews with ten young journalists, it explores the experiences and working conditions faced by young journalists during the pandemic. Through the lens of precarization, this article demonstrates how young journalists are exposed to multiple precarity in the media industry. They entered an industry amid a disruption phase that began before the pandemic, and the pandemic worsened the condition. The result shows that young journalists are under the shadow of precarity in performing their work.

Along with technological development, social media have brought various problems which have not been thought of before. Various public conversations are mediated in a space which initially was idealised as an equal and free space. However, multiple indicators indicate that the digital public sphere is vulnerable to hoaxes and fake news. This essay discusses the rise of hoax spreading groups in Indonesia and applied several cases to look back at the public sphere concept in the digital era. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi, media sosial telah membawa berbagai masalah yang belum terpikirkan sebelumnya. Berbagai percakapan publik dimediasi di ruang yang awalnya diidealkan sebagai ruang yang setara dan bebas. Namun, beberapa indikator menunjukkan bahwa ruang publik digital rentan terhadap hoaks atau berita palsu. Artikel ini membahas tentang munculnya kelompok penyebaran hoaks di Indonesia dan menerapkan beberapa kasus untuk melihat kembali konsep ruang publik di era digital.

Introduction/Main Objectives: Kampus Mengajar (Teaching Campus) is a program that provides opportunities for university students to learn outside the classroom for 1 (one) semester by becoming teaching partners to make innovation in the development of creative and innovative learning models and strategies in targeted education units. This program focuses on increasing school students' literacy and numeracy skills in targeted schools. Background Problems: This research tries to elaborate further on how university students play a role in efforts to increase students' learning motivation in the target schools. Novelty: The research that examined leadership and communication competencies associated with increasing students' learning motivation has never been described in the Kampus Mengajar Program evaluation. Research Methods: Qualitative approach is used to collect the data. The data used in this study were primary and secondary. Primary data was obtained from non-participant observations, interviews, and focus group discussions with students and teachers. Secondary data were obtained from students' report documents and other relevant literature. Finding/Results: Based on the results of the research, it was found that participants' leadership and communication competencies play an essential role in increasing students' learning motivation, which has a positive effect on increasing their literacy and numeracy skills. Conclusion: it could be concluded that university students, as the program participants were able to build their leadership attitudes successfully.

This paper looks at the phenomenon of populist journalism using the Daily Mail in the UK as a case study. Borrowing the concept of mediatization from Couldry and Hepp (2017) and hybridity from Chadwick (2017), this paper elaborates populist journalism as an inseparable part of the rise of populism in various places. While the socio-political context is relatively new, the historical traces of populist journalism can be traced to the phenomenon of tabloid journalism that has emerged since the early 19th century. In other words, populist journalism is a new style of developing tabloid journalism as a consequence of structural changes in the media environment. To cite this article (7th APA style): Utomo, W. P.
