Abstract

Implementation of Integrated Crop Management to Maize Hybrids (Zea mays L.)Hybridof maizes have a higher yield potential than the composite (open pollinated), because the hybrid has the dominant genes that capable to gain high yields. Integrated Crop Management(ICM) is an approach that promotes the cultivation of crop management, land, water, and plant pests in a synergistic and specific. Assessment carried out in paddy fields belonging to farmers, Farmers Group members Jatikersa, Cicurug Village, Majalengka Sub District,Majalengka District the Month June - August (Dry Season II) 2013. Activity assessment test varieties with 2 treatments: (1) hybrid maize varieties P-21 (private) and (2) hybrid maizevarieties Bima-14 (Balitsereal). Each activity was repeated at 16 wetland plots owned by farmers on the same land each 120m2. The data were analyzed using t-test, then made the relationship between the results of the yield components (number of cobs per plant, length of the cob, diameter cob, number of lines per cob, 100 grain weight) andusing analyzed correlation. The purpose of this study to determine variability and agronomic productivity of hybrid maize varieties using corn ICM approach. The resultapproach to the application of Integrated Crop Managementhybrid maize varieties P-21 can be adapted in paddy fields in Majalengka District and diameter of cob is the result of the most influential component of the yield of maize hybrids.

Abstract

Phenotype and Productivity of Several New High Yielding Rice Varieties in the Wetland Agro-ecosystem in Majalengka District. The high yielding varieties that have good adaptability to certain growing environments can be introduced for the development of productive, effective and efficient rice farming in the future. The adaptation assessment of new varieties was carried out in Jatitengah Village, Jatitujuh Sub District, Majalengka District in the first dry season (April to July 2017). The study activities used a Randomized Block Design (RBD), with treatments consisting of 5 varieties, namely Inpari 38, 39, 41, 42 and 43 with 5 replications. The study was conducted on farmers' land with treatment plots adjusted to the farmer’s natural plots. The parameters observed were plant height, number of productive tillers, number of panicles per clump, panicle length, number of filled grains per panicle, number of empty grains per panicle, weight of 1000 grains and productivity. Agronomic performance data were analyzed using the Duncan Test followed by multiple distance test (DMRT) using SAS version 9.0 for windows and farm analysis was measured by the R/C value. The results of the study showed that there was agronomic diversity in plant growth and the number of productive tillers and yields and components of rice yield among varieties. Inpari 43 variety provided productive tillers, panicle lengths, number of filled grains per panicle, number of empty grains per panicle which were higher than other varieties. The productivity of this variety was 7.70 t.ha-1, and R/C value of 2.20. Therefore, Inpari 43 can be used as an alternative to rotating varieties in the same agroecosystem and season in the paddy fields of Majalengka District. Varietas Inpari 43 memberikan jumlah anakan produktif, panjang malai, jumlah gabah isi per malai, jumlah gabah hampa per malai relatif lebih baik dibandingkan varietas lainnya.

Abstract

New superior varieties (VUB) are a reliable technological innovation to increase rice productivity. This study aims to determine the yield potential of some lowland rice VUB. The assessment was carried out on land owned by a member of the Sumber Rejeki Farmer Group, Cintaratu Village, Lakbok District, Ciamis Regency at Dry Season II in June-September 2020. The study used a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with six varieties of treatment and was repeated ten times. The varieties tested were Inpari 32, Inpari 42, Padjadjaran, Cakrabuana, Inpari IR Nutrizinc, and Siliwangi varieties. The variables observed included the growth component, yield component, and yield component. Data were analyzed using the F test followedby the Duncan Multiple Range Test at the Q=5% level. In addition, a correlation test was conducted between the growth components, yield components, and yields. The results of the study indicated that the new superior rice varieties studied had different performance in growth, number of tillers, yield, and yield components. Inpari 42 variety produced the highest productivity, namely 6.88 ton ha-1 which was supported by the number of grains per panicle, percentage of filled grains per panicle, and percentage of empty grain per panicle which were better than other varieties. Plant height and number of grains per panicle were positively correlated with yield.
