Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui perbedaan antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning dan  kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional pada pokok bahasan statistika bagi siswa kelas IX SMPN 1 Pematang Raya Tahun ajaran 2017/2018. (2) mengetahui Proses jawaban siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning dan pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen, populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX SMPN 1 Pematang Raya dengan sampel dipilih secara acak yaitu kelas IX-A sebagai kelas ekperimen dan kelas IX-G sebagai kelas kontrol yang setiap kelas terdiri atas 30 siswa. dengan instrumen berupa tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang telah valid. Dengan menggunakan uji perbedaan dan analisis hasil tes diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut: (1) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, dan (2) Proses jawaban siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning lebih baik dan lebih bervariasi daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci :Pembelajaran konvensional, Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Kemampuan                   Pemecahan Masalah. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) the differences improving of problem solving ability through problem based learning with students who were through conventional learning, (2) the students' answers through problem based learning and conventional learning. Quasi experimental research with population was all of students in grade IX SMP N 1 Pematang Raya that consist of 8 class, with a randomly class selected and selected class IX-A as an experiment class and class IX-G as a control class sample of each respondents were 30 people. Instrument problem solving ability of students in the description form had been qualified of validity. By using different test and descriptive analysis of the results were as follows: (1) the ability of mathematical problem solving of students’ who were taught with a problem based learning was higher than conventional learning, and (2) the students' answers were taught with problem-based learning were more varieties and better than conventional learning.Keywords : Conventional learning, Problem Based Learning, Problem Solving Ability.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study attempts to find out if the ability of problem solving math students who had learning problem based on the model of  PBL higher than on the ability of the solution that will teach with inkuiri learning model to the matter of the cube and beams in class VIII 6’Junior High School medan and to know the resolutions of the related problem solving ability students who had learning pbl and inkuiri with cube and beams in VIII 6’Junior High School  Medan. This research is experiment. Population in this research were all students 6’JuniorHigh School Medan.
