Abstract

This study aims to find appropriate media formulations for plant propagation of potato in vitro. Research conducted at the Tissue Culture Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tridinanti Palembang, beginning July 2015 until October 2015.The research design used is Completely Randomized  Design (CRD) arranged in factorial, with 9 (nine) combined treatment and five (5) replications ie: N1A1 = 0.5 ppm NAA + 100 ml/l coconut water, N1A2 = 0.5 ppm NAA + 150 ml/l coconut water, N1A3 = 0.5 ppm NAA + 200 ml/l coconut water, N2A1 = 1 ppm NAA + 100 ml/L coconut water, N2A2 = 1 ppm NAA + 150 ml/l coconut water, N2A3 = 1 ppm NAA + 200 ml/l coconut water, N3A1 = 1.5 ppm NAA +100 ml/l coconut water, N3A2 = 1.5 ppm NAA + 150 ml/l coconut water, and N3A3 = 1.5 ppm NAA + 200 ml/l coconut water. The observation parameter are the time to established buds, shoots high, the time to established roots, number of roots, root length, and the percentage of plantlets life.The results showed that treatment of NAA at a concentration of 1 ppm affected significant on the root length 7.74 cm. Coconut water at a concentration of 100 ml/l significantly affected the established of root ie 9.97 days after planting (dap) and 200 ml/l of coconut water has a significant effect on shoot height 10.27 cm. There was no significant interaction between NAA and coconut water in almost of all parameters were observed, except on the parameter of established roots. NAA at a concentration of 1.5 ppm and 200 ml/l of coconut water has a significant interaction for paremeter time to established roots ie 7.00 dap.

Abstract

Effect of foliar fertilizer on growth of axillary buds of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) Cilembu Variety as in vitro. This research was aimed to find inexpensive formulations planting medium for the multiplication of sweet potato as in vitro. Research was conducted at the Tissue Culture Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tridinanti Palembang from November 2015 until April 2016. The reseach used Randomized Completely Design (RCD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications, namely: H1 = MS (control), H2 = Hyponex 2 g, H3 = Growmore 2 g , H4 = Gandasil D 2g, H5= MS+Hyponex 2 g, H6 = MS+ Growmore 2g, H7=MS+Gandasil D 2g. Each treatment was repeated five (5) times. Parameter observed were: time formed buds, shoots, number of leaves, the time to form roots, number of roots, root length, and percentage of plantlets life. The result showed that the treatment of foliar fertilizer no significant effect than that of MS to spur the growth of axillary buds explants of sweet potato varieties Cilembu in vitro. In the tabulation of foliar fertilizer Growmore 2 g gave explant growth of axillary buds of sweet potato better.Keyword: Sweet potato, Foliar fertilizer.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the response to growth and yield of glutinous corn (Zea mays ceratina) due to various doses of chicken manure bokashi fertilizer. The study used a randomized block design (RBD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications, the treatments given were various doses of chicken manure bokashi fertilizer as follows: P0 = 0 tonnes of bokashi per hectare, P1 = 5 tonnes of bokashi per hectare, P2 = 10 tonnes of bokashi per hectare. hectare hectare, P3 = 15 ton bokashi per hectare, P4 = 20 ton bokashi per hectare, and P5 = 25 ton bokashi per hectare. The variables observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, ear length, ear diameter, ear weight per plant and plant fresh weight. Based on the results of the study, it can be rejected that the provision of chicken manure bokashi fertilizer has a good effect on the growth and yield of glutinous corn, give chicken manure bokashi fertilizer 20 tons per hectare or equivalent to P4 (24 kg per plot) resulting in plant height 269.95 cm, the number of leaves is 14.40, leaf area 26,753.20 cm2, ear length 19.95 cm, ear diameter 4.72 cm, ear weight per plant 271.30 g, and the weight of plant fresh stems is 1,212.05 g.

Abstract

China aster plant is a popular ornamental plant species in Indonesia, because aster has a beautiful flower with a wide range of colors such as purple, white, yellow, red, etc. Aster plant as an ornamental plant is quite attractive, but the seed supply is limited due to many factors inhibiting the cultivation techniques, so the availability of aster seeds in the field is quite limited. Plant propagation using in vitro culture technology represents a major opportunity to produce seedlings in a short time and the number of lots. This research used Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with five treatments and five replications with each treatment used 5 units bottle culture samples so totally there were 125 units. The treatment of the research were: H0 (control), H1 (1.5 g Growmore + 30% Coconut Milk), H2 (1.5 g Growmore + 40% Coconut Milk), H3 (2 g Hyponex + 30% Coconut Milk) and H4 (2 g Hyponex + 40% coconut Milk). Parameters observed were: the time to sprout, shoot height, the time to form roots, number of roots and root length. The result showed that the analysis of variance was no significant effect to all parameters observed. Meanwhile, based on the tabulated results showed that the treatment H0 gave the best response to time to sprout, shoot height, time to grow roots and root length.Keywords: Aster China, Foliar Fertilizer, Coconut Water
