Abstract

The research is based on the phenomenon that happened at Museum Kretek. In 2017, Museum Kretek has decline the number of the visitors, and in 2014 to 2017 Museum Kretek can’t reach the target which has been determined. The problem of this research is how can the strategy of the marketing communication that used by culture and tourism office increase the number of visitor in at museum kretek. the aim of the research is to know and evaluate the strategy of marketing communication that used by culture and tourism office in Kudus in increasing the number of visitor at museum kretek. The method that used in this research is qualitative descriptive with research method study case on the strategy of the marketing communication at Museum Kretek wich done by culture and tourism office in Kudus. To collect the data, the writer uses interview with the subject of the research and the informan and she also uses the documentation from the archives of culture and tourism office in Kudus. Based on the result and the analysis of the research with using analysis data technique, wich is matching pattern and strategy communication done by culture and tourism office in Kudus in inceasing the number of the visitor at Museum kretek can be concluded that. 1. Communicating thhe program or a near thing in the some of media as a publication and promotion. 2. Establish cooperation with internal public and external. 3. Build many communication program to make the visitor more interested. 4. Doing innovation and improvement to infrastructure at Museum Kretek. 5. Improving the human resources for better service..

Abstract

Persaingan nutrisi kesehatan di Indonesia bertumbuh tahun demi tahunnya. Salah satunya adalah Herbalife dengan penjualan secara langsung. Menurut survey dari majalah top brand, pada tahun 2016 top brand index Herbalife meningkat menjadi 15,2% dari tahun sebelumnya yang hanya 5,8%. Namun, kenaikan top brand index ini belum mampu membuat Herbalife menempati posisi pertama dan menggeser pesaing utama mereka yaitu WRP. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kompetensi komunikasi Herbalife Independent Distributor dan citra merek terhadap loyalitas konsumen produk nutrisi kesehatan Herbalife. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan tipe eksplanatori. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini sebanyak 60 responden. Hasil penelitian dari analisis korelasi Kendall tau_b menjelaskan bahwa kompetensi komunikasi Herbalife Independent Distributor dengan loyalitas konsumen produk nutrisi kesehatan Herbalife menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,001 dan nilai korelasi 0,333. Hal ini dapat diartikan kedua variabel tersebut memiliki hubungan yang positif dengan keeratan yang lemah. Sedangkan, hasil citra merek dengan loyalitas konsumen produk nutrisi kesehatan Herbalife memiliki nilai signifikansi 0,002 dan nilai korelasi 0,315. Hal ini dapat diartikan bahwa kedua variabel tersebut memiliki hubungan yang positif namun keeratan yang dihasilkan lemah. Dengan hasil tersebut disarankan kepada Herbalife Independent Distributor lebih meningkatkan kompetensi komunikasi yang dimiliki mereka terutama pada variabel motivasi karena motivasi merupakan titik lemah dari Herbaife Independent Distributor karena apabila motivasi, pengetahuan dan keterampilan semuanya dapat ditingkatkan lagi oleh Herbalife Independent Distributor maka loyalitas konsumen juga akan meningkat.

Abstract

The background of this research is based on many cases of negative self concept in adolescent. Mainly, andolescent from broken home family. Self Concept is related with their sorroundings, such as family and peer groups. This research aims to determine the correlation of the intensity of broken home family communication, peer group interaction, and adolescent ‘s self concept. The method which is used in this research is the quantitative with positivistic approach. This research used The Social Construction Self Theory and The Reference Group Theory. This Research is using non probability sampling technique. The population in this research is adolescent age 17-23 from broken home family in Semarang city. While the sample is 30 respondens. The data is analyzed with the aid of SPSS aplication with Pearson correlation test. The result of this research indicate there is correlation between the intensity of broken home family communication and adolescent ‘s self concept with significance value is 0,004 and Pearson correlation value is 0,511. It means the strength of the intensity of broken home family communication and adolescent ‘s self concept is medium with directional. So, if the intensity of broken home family communication is high, then adolescent’s self concept is high. Otherwise, if the intensity of broken home family communication is low, then adolescent’s self concept is low. And also there is correlation between the peer group interaction and adolescent’s self concept with significance value is 0,041 and Pearson correkation value is 0,375. It means the correlation’s strength is weak and directional. So, if the peer group interaction is high, then adolescent’s self concept is high. Otherwise, if peer group interaction is low, then adolescent’s self concept is low. The suggestion of the researcher is for the parents to improve the intensity of communication with their children, so the children will get knowledge and a good understanding about their self which forming a positive self concept in adolescent.

Abstract

Life of shoreline students in the process of adaptation is interested to be researched, considering that there are many issues they may face during adapting process, such as how they overcomenee culture. Toraja students studying in Semarang become the main focus of this research regarding how they go throught with process of adaptation in new environment. The object of this research is to examine the experience of Toraja students in adapting life in Semarang. It conducts descriptive qualitative method with terminological approach. In addition, the theory of Culture Shock (U-Curve) Gundykunst dan Kim (2010), is applied in order to help the researcher explan the findings. This research takes three Torajanese students as the object of research. The research focuses on four phases, namely; Phase of Joy; Disappointment Phase; Phase of Resolution and Phase Functions Effectively. This research took three students from Toraja. The findings show that Toraja students studying at earlier phase studying in Semarang experience the excitement and have good college life expectation in new environment. The results of this study indicate that Toraja students who are educated in Semarang Toraja students feel happy and have hope for college life in a new environment. After adapting, Toraja students experience a culture shock because of the cultural differences espoused specifically in understanding language differences and habits in the living environment. The last is Toraja students after going through the phases in the adaptation process where Toraja students begin to be able to socialize well with the campus environment and place of residence and begin to adopt several cultures in new environments such as using regional languages.

Abstract

This study discusses about report to Rizieq Shihab. One of the media that preaches about Rizie Shihab related to pornographic content chat is an Instagram account that has many followers, named @agus_bunyu. Instagram hegemonized readers accordingly with what media offers. This study is intended to describe public’s interpretation to criminalization discourse in preaching on Instagram. This type of study is qualitative and uses reception analysis approaching. The public is regarded as the producer of meaning, not only as consumer of media contents. Public will receives news that contains supposition of pornographic content chat of Rizieq Shihab in Instagram that related to their social, culture and knowledge background. This research uses Stuart Hall’s encoding-decoding model to know the public’s interpretation. The meaning producing process includes the content of the text to observe dominant means through preferred reading using semiotic analysis to see category of public’s menaing in dominant respond, negotiation or opposition. The result of this research shows that public is active in interpreting the preaching of Rizieq Shihab’s on suspicion of pornographic content chat in Instagram that they receive. Public’s interpretation is divided into three meaning positions: dominant reading, negotiated reading, and oppositional reading. The public that included into dominant reading interprets the preaching of Rizieq Shihab on suspicion of pornographic content chat suited with dominant meaning that offered by media. Meanwhile, the public in negotiated reading position interprets the preaching of Rizieg Shihab on suspicion of pornographic content chat with their own interpretation. This group of audience is not only regarding this preaching of Rizieq Shihab on suspicion of pornographic content chat from Rizieq Shihab side, which is being criminalized, but also consider the process that is being done by the Police in handling this case is properly handled. On the other hand, the audience that included into oppositional reading interprets this preaching of Rizieq Shihab on suspicion of pornographic content chat is entirely different and contrast with dominant meanings from the preaching.

Abstract

Masa remaja disebut sebagai suatu periode transisional, masa usia bermasalah, dan di masa ini terjadi perubahan sosial yang salah satunya meningkatnya pengaruh teman sebaya. Pengaruh teman sebaya sangat besar dan dapat memberikan dampak negatif yang dapat menjerumuskan seorang anak untuk berperilaku nakal, salah satunya perilaku bullying. Saat ini perilaku bullying yang sedang marak terjadi adalah cyberbullying di media sosial. Cyberbullying dapat diartikan sebagai aktivitas agresif yang dilakukan kepada orang lain dan terjadi secara berulang-ulang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterlibatan dalam cyberbullying di media sosial dan konformitas teman sebaya terhadpa perilaku bullying di sekolah. Teori yang digunakan yaitu Theory of Reasoned Action dan konsep mengenai Konformitas Teman Sebaya. penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 78 siswa dan siswi di SMP Islam Hidayatullah Kota Semarang. Analisis data yang digunakan, yaitu analisis regresi linier sederhana dengan hasil terdapat pengaruh positif disetiap variabelnya.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini di dasari oleh pentingnya prestasi belajar yang di dapat oleh mahasiswa selama proses belajar mengajar, namun masih di dapati 41 mahasiswa FEB Undip yang mempunyai IPK dengan angka < 2,25. Membuat peneliti tertarik untuk mengkaji hubungan pola komunikasi dosen (X1) dan intensitas komunikasi dalam peer group (X2) terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa FEB Undip (Y) Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan pola komunikasi dosen dan intensitas komunikasi dalam peer group terhadap pretasi belajar mahasiswa FEB Undip. Teori matematis dan teori kelompok rujukan digunakan untuk menjelaskan hubungan pola komunikasi dosen, intensitas komunikasi dalam peer group, terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa FEB Undip. Penelitian ini merupakan penelititian kuantitatif dengan tipe eksplanatori. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 88 mahasiswa S1 FEB Undip angkatan 2016, dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian dari analisis Kendall Tau_b menjelaskan bahwa pola komunikasi dosen dan prestasi mahasiswa FEB Undip menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 dan nilai korelasi 0,501. Hal ini dapat diartikan kedua variable tersebut memiliki hubungan yang positif dengan keeratan kuat. Sedangkan, hasil intensitas komunikasi dalam peer group dengan prestasi belajar mahasiswa FEB Undip memiliki nilai signifikansi 0,000 dan nilai korelasi 0,416. Hal ini dapat diartikan kedua variable tersebut memiliki hubungan yang positif dengan keeratan kuat. Dengan hasil tersebut penelitian ini kemudian memberikan saran kepada dosen dan kelompok pertemanan mahasiswa untuk dapat lebih meningkatkan dan memberikan motivasi dalam mendapatkan prestasi belajar yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The presence of the latest Instagram feature, the Instagram Story was able to attract the attention of its users from various circles. Instagram users are now competing to share their daily activities through this feature. Instagram Story is a sign that new media is able to create new behavior for its users and personal things became public consumption. The communication formed also becomes more complex than the direct interpersonal communication. The purpose of this research is to know the relation of intensity view Instagram Story and intensity of communication between user with behavior of uploading Instagram Story. Sampling in this research using purposive sampling. The population in this research were 18-35 year olds who were active users of Instagram. The number of samples researched were 50 respondents.Based on the hypothesis test conducted by Kendall's Tau-b correlation analysis, it shows that: first, there is a correlation between intensity view Instagram Story and behavior of uploading Instagram Story with significance value 0.000. It shows that there is a very significant relationship between the intensity of viewing Instagram Story and behavior of uploading Instagram. Second, there is a correlation between the intensity of communication between users and the behavior of uploading Instagram Story with a significance value of 0,000. It shows that there is a very significant relationship between the intensity of communication between users and the behavior of uploading Instagram. Advice given that the user should be more aware of the importance of understanding in sorting out things that are eligible to be published or not in social media, especially Instagram Story.
