Abstract

The analysis of management constructionin the implementation of development projectsneeds to be done in order to obtain an effective construction methods and cost efficient. The purpose of this study is to compare two methods of formwork on each floor plate to get a more feasible method applied is based on the time and cost of the project. Stages in conducting the study are:Calculation of the volume of work on projects that include foundation work, tie beams, columns, beams, plates, ladder, shearwall, GWT (Ground Water Tank). Cost calculation on project work, in order to get the cost for all elements of the building structure. Calculation of the power plate and beams in project work, for the purposes of dismantling formwork manually, with estimate the time of the plate and beam formwork to release. Comparison of two implementation methods of calculation of the work on the first fabrication of formwork plate method done at the beginning of the three floors, while the second method of fabrication of formwork is onlydone at the beginning of the two floors. Comparison of plate work and the work done by the time and the project costs (direct and indirect costs). Implementation of management analysis performed in order to obtain an effectiveconstruction methods and cost efficient, so the comparison of the results of both methods can be concluded that the second method is more efficient and can be applied to the implementation of the project, with the difference in cost Rp.277 288 777, - and the difference in duration of work is 5 days longer.

Abstract

Reworks on construction projects caused by errors in planning, working procedure errors, lack of supervision makes the results of work are not in accordance with the initial design and the construction. They can result in some of loss, such as cost, time, quality of work, and a decreased motivation. This study intends to evaluate the rework on the building construction project in Semarang with the aim to identifying the causative factor of rework, to knowing the magnitude of the risk and the impact caused of rework, knowing the parties responsible for the occurrence of rework and to find a solution to minimize it. A method of gathering data is done by conducting preliminary interviews to 6 companies construction in Semarang and spread of the questionnaires to the 60 respondents, but the application answered as much as 41 questionnaires. The risk management framework was used to determine the impact of rework on the construction project in terms of time and costs with a scale of 1-5. The results showed that the most dominant factor causes rework is a managerial factors. The type of work that is often experienced on rework is finishing and complementary. the greatest impact of rework on finishing work and complementary, with the impact on the time at 3.65 and the impact on the cost at 3.21. Parties responsible if rework occurs as a whole according to the perspective of the respondents there was party contractor amounted to 79.16%. The solution to minimizes rework effectivelly is to improve communication, supervision in the field, improve teamwork between the parties.

Abstract

In construction projects is often a dispute between the owner and the contractor, due to imbalance between the rights and obligations of the clauses of agreement contained in the contract agreement. Many standard contract used in Indonesia and abroad. One of the example is international FIDIC standard. To minimize imbalance, its important to know what are prone clause disputes based on standard FIDIC. The purpose of this study was to determine what clauses are prone to dispute and to see how the necessity of FIDIC standard is applied at the national contract documents. The data and information comes from the research and literature studies (books, regulations). Data processing is done by analyzing the rights and obligations of the owner and contractor clauses in contract document itself, then be reviewed with the FIDIC standard, and latter to compare the two. Regarding verification and validation perfomed by interviewing field of construction experts. The results showed that vulnerable disputed clauses are clause sanctions, payments, fines, bail enforcement, contract value, and the exercise period. Then concluded also that the terms of contract in Indonesia doesn’t need to refer FIDIC standard, because FIDIC standard deemed not appropriate when applied in Indonesia due to regulatory problems.

Abstract

This paper explains on studies of top down basement construction method on high rise building as innovation of construction method. Nowadays, in the world of construction there are varies of innovations; one of them is top down method for basement construction. Sudirman Suites Hotel and Apartment is a project of 22 levels building and 5 levels of basement located in the middle of large city where there are already many buildings and activities surrounding. PT. Wika Gedung as a main contractor decided to apply top down method for 5 levels of basement with 24,4 m deep. As comparation there is Menara Sentraya project on Blok-M, which conventionally constructed with bottom up method. This research uses Sudirman Suites Hotel and Apartment’s site manager’s correspondency as primary data. Shop drawings, proposed budget, time schedule and site plan for the secondary data. Data analyzation method is to compare primary data on both project and uses secondary data for validation. Main reason for top down method for basement construction is the limited project area, only 4792.331 m2 and 2769.15 m2 for the excavation zone, moreover, open cut is not feasible to excavate 24,4 m deep without any reinforcements.

Abstract

Labor’s productivity is one of the success factors in construction project. The optimal labor’s performances can be measured using the productivities coefficient of the workers. The coefficient of productivities known as BOW analysis is further updated into SNI analysis. However, the value of labor’s coefficient productivity may be different at each location depending on their performances. For example the steel work labor’s who perform their work either outside or inside the project site. Therefore, this research takes some work sites on the steel workshop and the storey building project. The purpose of this study is to know the coefficient of labor’s productivity of steel working on the workshop and the storey building project. Then, the results of the observation is compare with the benchmarks that presents at this moment, which is BOW and SNI so can be obtained the optimum coefficient values of productivity. The results revealed that the coefficient’s value of steel labor productivity for foreman in workshop, building project, BOW, SNI are 0.0179, 0.0089, 0.00 and 0.004 respectively. The value of coefficient productivity for chief worker in workshop, building project, BOW, SNI are 0.00, 0.0089, 0.255 and 0.007 respectively. In the building project, the foreman and the chief worker do not only do steel working but also doing other types of job so it assumed that both of them are doing only 60% in steel working. The value of coefficient productivity for Vulcan in workshop, building project, BOW, SNI are 0.0359, 0.0592, 0.675 and 0.07 respectively. The value of coefficient productivity for assistant worker in workshop, building project, BOW, SNI are 0.0887, 0.0726, 0.675 and 0.07 respectively. Based on the coefficient value, it can be concluded that the order value of the optimum coefficient productivity of the worker is in the  workshop, building projects, SNI and BOW.

Abstract

The construction sector is one of the major contributors to national economic development, but has great potential in environmental degradation. CO2 emissions have been used as a measure of the effect of human activities on the environment. One of the construction process that allegedly resulted in relatively large CO2e emissions is road projects. This study assessed the carbon footprint generated by the process of material production, material transport, and implementation of highway construction rigid pavement. Data is collected through direct observation of Palur Flyover Project and interviews with the project team, and project data obtained from the companies and government agencies. Road project reviewed start from STA. 0 + 350 to STA. 0 + 450 2 line of a 3 m width CO2e emissions calculations using the conversion factor from the literature. The total CO2e emissions produced during the process of rigid pavement is 92.9 tonnes of CO2e. The amount of emissions generated by the off site material production, material transport, concrete production and concrete pouring are 88 166 tonnes of CO2e (94.9%), 3,168 tonnes of CO2e (3.4%), 1,567 tons of CO2e (1.7%) respectively. Material production, cement production accounted for the largest CO2e emission (86,2%). Therefore alternative materials to cement are needed.
