Abstract

Lodan dam is a dam made to stem Lodan River, located in the village Lodan, District Sarang, Rembang, Central Java. One way to determine the level of safety of dams is to use geotechnical instrumentation equipment consisting of water pressure instrumentation, deformation instrumentation and seepage instrumentation. This thesis discusses the pore water pressure were measured by means of piezometers. Monitor leaks and seepage using V-Notch Weir. And deformation using settlement survey point. From piezometer observation, it appears that the device responds to changes in water level only FP1, FP, FP3, PP6, PP10, PP13 and PP14 so that need for further treatment. For phreatic line drawing is still safe because the phreatic line does not cut the dam body. Seepage discharge is very small at less than 0.28 l / min / m, so it is still within safe limits. For vertical deformation observation is still safe because the SI value ≤ 0.02. In general, the security level Dam Lodan still within normal limits. Only the piezometers instruments that need further treatment.

Abstract

This final project provides soil stability and the handling on alternative roads between Tawangmangu-Plaosan STA 3+150-STA 3+200, Karanganyar. The landscape in this area is rather steep and unstable, making the soil here has a high potential landslides. Based on the results of the drill testing which has done manually in this area, the soil contains gravelly-silt, sandly-silt and silt-stone. The analysis was done with Fellenius method and Plaxis v.8.2. Based on Fellenius method calculation, the safety factor value of the slope is 1,4701, while with Plaxis software, the safety factor value is 1,3476. Those values above are less than minimal safety requirement value of slope  which is 1,5, so this landscape has a great potential of landslide. There are two alternative suggestions to handle this situation. The first one is adding 10 meters of Bored Piles into Counterfort wall. The other method is using 11 meters of Bored Piles. The choosen method for this project was using 11 meters of Bored piles. Bored Piles was choosen because it need lesser concrete volumes than Counterfort wall. Those bored piles has diameters of 0,8 meters. It was placed at the +1191,50 above the ground and 16 meters from the centerline. The results show that this alternative increase the value of safety factor up to 1,6383.

Abstract

This thesis contained about the stability of the soil and it countermeasures on roads Pringsurat KM. MGL. 22 +631 -  22 +655 District of Temanggung. Pringsurat landscape is hilly mountainous and prone to landslide. This road section is a class II national road built to connect cities in Central Java such as Semarang, Temanggung, Magelang with the cities of Yogyakarta. This road crosses the hills that contain layers of silt soil, clay, and sandy. Landslide occurred on roads Pringsurat KM. MGL. 22 +631 - 22 +655 District of Temanggung. The data used in this case study is primary data and secondary data. Data collection was conducted using interviews, direct observation in the field, and method literature. Method of analysis in this thesis is to calculate the slope stability and provide solutions to the problems that occur. Geotechnical analysis done in two ways, with the manual method and the program. Manual analysis method by Whitlow (1995) for multilayer soil while the program analyzes using Plaxis software V.8.2. Model of elastic and plastic collapse of Mohr-Coulomb criterion chosen as a model soil. The analysis showed that the landslide occurred at KM. MGL. 22 +631 - 22 +655. To deal with such matters tried with two alternatives, namely the handling of avalanches with geotextile type BW250 Woven and boored Pile, where the two alternatives are able to cope with the handling of landslides as evidenced by the results of the Safety Factor values 1.4114 and 1.4617 for Geotextile for boored Pile.
