Abstract

Undergrowth vegetation are bottom layer of the tree community. Community of undergrowth vegetation are always identical as the weeds that had been considered as a disturber and harm. When viewed from another perspective undergrowth is a component of diversity. This study aimed to analyze the structure of the composition and reviewing the use of plants from three different plots under cropping Tectona grandis in seeds clones garden (KBK) Padangan. Data were collected at three research stations are in plots 1983, 1988 and 1993 using the plot as much as 36 squared, each size of 1 m x 1 m. Undergrowth plants were  obtained from three research stations is 19 species from 12 families. Family Fabaceae or legumes are most often found. The highest undergrowth had Importance Value Index (IVI) from plots 1983 and 1993 was Sentrosema (Centrosema pubescens) and on plots 1988 is grass (Brachiaria decumbens). Index of species diversity (H') in the three different  research stations showed the diversity of species are moderate at the region. Values of similarity index (IS) undergrowth vegetation showed  the plant community from  three research stations are different. Keywords: Undergrowth vegetation, species diversity, KBK  Padangan,  vegetation Analysis

Abstract

Karst region has typical characteristics of ecosystems of high lime content that required plants which lived in the region tolerant with the content of lime and drought. There are any land use at Sukolilo village,  the differences in land use affect the diversity of plants. This study aims to determined the index of diversity and importance value index of plant , as well as the importance of vegetation indiced on various land uses in the region. The plot study determination was conducted by purposive random sampling method by recording the number of species, widespread basal area and canopy closure at the level of plant trees, shrubs and herbs, and analyzed the data that obtained from different land uses. The results as a whole there are 156 plant species in 55 families, in details, at tree level there are 60 species, 69 species of shrubs level and 34 species of herbaceous level. The highest species diversity index was found on the land around the springs (3.18). While the importance value index found on Jati tree (Tectona grandis) on forest land of Perhutani (186.50). The differences in diversity on a variety of land use are because of human influenced in the utilization and management of land. Keywords: Plant Biodiversity, Land Use, Karst Regions, Kendeng Mountains Sukolilo

Abstract

The Ungaran mount  is a various kind area of biodiversity, either flora or fauna. One of the flora biodiversity there is bryoflora. Bryoflora are classified  into two groups, terrestrial and epiphytic. The bryoflora researchs has been widely applied in the java island, but the related  publication of terrestrial bryoflora in the Ungaran mount Central Java are rarely found. The purpose of the research is to explain the diversity of  terrestrial bryoflora in the tropical zone (at altitude 750 m asl, 980 m asl, and 1100 m asl). The method for bryoflora sampling used quadrate with purposive sampling method. The result on this research  in tropical zone of Ungaran mount found 50 spesies of bryoflora that were identified in to three division : Bryophyta, Marchantiophyta, and Anthocerophyta. The percentage of the Bryophyta that was found are: Bryophyta 56 % (34 species), Marchantiophyta 40 % (15 species), and Anthocerophyta 4 % (1 species). Based on the height of station were identified 26 species at altitude 750 m asl, 17 species at altitude 980 m asl, and 24 species at altitude 1100 m asl. Keywords: Terrestrial Bryoflora, Tropical Zone, Ungaran Mount

Abstract

Euphorbiaceae is a potential plant and has a wide distribution. Nature Reserve Dungus Iwul is one area that has many different types of Euphorbiaceae plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity, density and distribution as well as reviewing the use of Euphorbiaceae in Nature Reserve Dungus Iwul, Wirajaya Village, District Jasinga, Bogor, West Java. Fieldwork was conducted in May 2016. Observations were made on a sample plot with an area of 1 Ha include: the name of the species and number of individuals, DBA measurement and measurement of environmental parameters. Utilization survey conducted by interview and literature study. The results showed that the observation plots was found 17 species of Euphorbiaceae. Number of individuals based habitus were 8 individual trees, 31 individual poles, 131 saplings and 192 seedlings. Euphorbiaceae distributed by 70% in the observation plot. Euphorbiaceae used for producing animal and human feed, building materials, firewood, dyes, ornamental plants, traditional medicine and others. Keywords: Species diversity, species density, Euhphorbiaceae

Abstract

Chlorella pyrenoidosa H.Chick is one of abundant microalgae in Indonesia and mostly cultivated due to its characters which are fast and easily transplanted. Tofu liquid waste contains nutrient which is needed by mikroalga because it contains inorganic content such as carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium. This research is to study the influence of difference concentration of tofu liquid waste towards population growth of C. pyrenoidosa and concentration level of  tofu liquid waste towards population growth of C. pyrenoidosa. The method is by cultivating C. pyrenoidosa H.Chick through the water media which has been given any tofu liquid waste concentration which functions as nutrient source for microalgae. The tofu liquid waste concentration  is consisting of0% as control, 15%, 30%, 45% and 60% and it’s conducted by three times repetition.  The obtained data was tested by ANOVA. As the F score was different then continued by Duncan test. The result shows that the optimal peak of microalgae’s population growth could befound in media with 15% concentration of tofu liquid waste, 337.500 cell/ml, then another control(0%), 170.000 cell/ml and 30%, 119.167 cell/ml, 45%, 81.667 cell/ml. The solidity of lowest population in  60%  concentration showed 65.833 cell/ml. This  findings  has showed that thedifferent handling of concentration towards tofu liquid waste has influenced on C. pyrenoidosapopulation growth. The optimal growth reaches at 15% concentration of  tofu liquid waste. Keywords: Chlorella pyrenoidosa, population, waste, liquid, tofu

Abstract

Research on land cover change in the karst region is currently an important study as an indicator of evaluating global environmental changes. Karst area is a unique natural phenomenon on the surface of the earth because it has an important role in water conservation, CO2 absorption, and maintenance of biodiversity but is very vulnerable to damage due to human activities. The purpose of this study was to analyze changes in karst land cover in Gunem District, Rembang Regency, Central Java using satellite image data and GIS (Geographical Information System). The research method used is to compare three data on the distribution of land cover in 1997, 2008 and 2017 obtained from the interpretation of satellite image data. The results of the study are that land cover based on the results of the interpretation of satellite imagery is classified into four classes, namely fields / gardens, fields, built up land and water bodies. In the last 20 years the cover class of upland / garden land continues to experience a downward trend, while the built-up land cover class continues to increase. Changes in land cover in the karst area of Gunem Subdistrict during the period of 1997-2017 were influenced by factors of human activity which included population growth, housing needs, and supporting facilities. This result is expected to be a consideration in carrying out sustainable development planning and placing karst as a protected area.
