Abstract

Communication between team members is the most vital thing inachieving victory in online games, even any player or captain should be aware thatevery member has an equal and equally important position. During the course ofthe game, each member of the team is required to interact in command from thecaptain to another member, share information about the status and condition ofeach Hero the player uses, share information about the opponent's movements, andagree on the steps to be taken to achieve victory .The study was conducted at bootcamp or eSports team training locationin Pekanbaru City, while the reason for choosing the location was due to the titleof the researcher. This research was conducted in March - April 2018. In datacollection, the researcher used interview, observation, and documentationtechnique. Using informant as the source of information.The results showed the Fun Gaming communication pattern in the DotA2 eSports team during the match had been running well in accordance with itsfunction. Communication used is virtual communication and face to face by way ofemail, chat and web with chain communication pattern. Face to facecommunication patterns Fun Gaming eSports team DotA 2 when not competingwell and applied well in groups with a pattern of face-to-face communication withstar patterns. They always gather together to exchange ideas and share each otherwith the game DotA 2.Key Words: DotA 2, eSports, Fun Gaming, virtual communication.
