Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis profil keterampilan siswa SMA di beberapa sekolah di Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X sebanyak 163 siswa dan objek penelitian adalah keterampilan proses sains siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data menggunakan tes pilihan berganda, dokumentasi, lembar observasi, dan wawancara. Analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan proses sains siswa berada pada katergori sedang yaitu sekitar 40% - 60%, sehingga membutuhkan perhatian khusus dari guru, terutama keterampilan menginterpretasi grafik dan merumuskan kesimpulan. Inovasi model pembelajaran 5E hypothetical deductive learning cycle dapat digunakan untuk meningkatan keterampilan proses siswa.The research was conduct to analyze the profile of science process skill of high school students at some school in Sleman District, Yogyakarta. This research was conducted using descriptive method with qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were 10th grade student as many as 163 students and the objects were students’ science process skill. Instruments used to collect data using multiple choice tests, documentations, observation sheets, and interviews. Data analysises were included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that students’ science process skill were in a moderate category, ie about 40% - 60%, requiring special attention from the teachers, especially the skills of interpreting the graph and formulating conclusions. Innovation learning model 5E hypothetical deductive learning cycle can be used to improve students' process skills

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to carry out activities to disseminate science subject for higher-order thinking skills by master teachers to Junior High School teachers and to improve the concept abilities of Junior High School teachers in Bogor Regency regarding science subject for higher-order thinking skills. The activity was carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Dramaga involving 23 science teachers and at SMP Negeri 2 Cibinong involving 25 science teachers. This activities used participatory approach. The steps for implementing this disseminate activity are: the preparation, mentoring of the master teacher, training implementation, and analyzing pretest and posttest data. The results of N-Gain, it was obtained that there was an increase in higher-level thinking skills by 0.75 with a high category for teacher participants at SMP Negeri 1 Dramaga, and by 0.62 with a moderate category for teacher participants at SMP Negeri 2 Cibinong.

Abstract

AbstrakPerkembangan teknologi yang semakin maju menyebabkan banyaknya usia sekolah yang memiliki smartphone ber-platform Android. Hal ini seharusnya menjadi kemudahan dalam mencari informasi terutama terkait dengan materi yang dipelajari sehingga dapat membantu meningkatkan kemampuan kognitifnya. Namun hal ini berbanding terbalik dengan kemampuan kognitif siswa dari sekolah mitra PPL STKIP Surya yang nilai kognitifnya masih di bawah KKM. Berdasarkan wawancara dengan siswa mereka menyatakan kurang tersedianya bahan ajar ber-platform Android. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan kinematics application untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif siswa. Model penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian pengembangan ini adalah Small Scale Research and Development (RD) dari Borg dan Gall. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Kabupaten Tangerang yang menjadi sekolah mitra STKIP Surya dalam kegiatan PPL. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui lembar angket validasi ahli, angket respon guru dan siswa, serta tes kognitif. Hasil analisis data diperoleh penilaian oleh ahli media dan ahli materi berada pada kategori sangat layak. Sedangkan untuk tanggapan siswa mengenai aplikasi memiliki interpretasi baik dan untuk tanggapan oleh guru mengenai aplikasi memiliki interpretasi sangat baik. Peningkatan kognitif siswa yang menggunakan kinematics application sebagai bahan ajar memiliki interpretasi sedang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pentingnya bahan ajar ber-platform Android sebagai bahan ajar siswa sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif mereka.Kata Kunci: Bahan ajar; kinematics application; Android; kemampuan kognitifAbstractThe development of technology cause many students in school age have Android Smartphone. It should make them easier to look information about the lesson so that they can increase their cognitive ability. In the other hand, the student’s cognitive ability is under KKM. They said the learning materials in android platform is rare. The aim of the research is to improve kinematics application for increase student’s cognitive ability. Research model in this research is Small Scale Research and Development (RD) form Borg dan Gall. The research is conducted on STKIP Surya- high school partner in Tangerang. The instrument are questionnaire for validator, questionnaire for teacher and student, and conitive test. The analysis shows that assessment from media and content expert to kinematics application is very good. Response form student is good and response from teacher is very good. The N-gain in this research is medium.Keywords: learning materials; kinematics application; Android; cognitive ability
