Abstract

Objectives of the research are 1) to find out which is better, the students’ learning achievement with learning model of Think Pair Share method or conventional learning models, 2) to find out which is better, the student achievement with high motivation or low motivation, 3) to determine the interaction between the think pair share method and motivation toward English learning achievement on State MTs in Kudus Regency. The method in this research used research experiment with 2X2 factorial design. The population is all eighth grade students in the State MTs in Kudus Regency. Research hypothesis test used Two - Way of ANOVA analysis with 2 x 2 ANOVA formulations.The results of research showed that: 1) there are significant differences in the English learning achievement of the group used TPS model and conventional group. Student learning outcomes in English Language subjects with TPS method is better than the students who used conventional methods. 2) There are significant differences in English learning achievement of students in the group with high motivation and a group of students with low learning motivation. Student learning outcomes in English subjects who have a high motivation is better than students who have a low learning motivation. 3) There is interaction between learning method with motivation toward English learning achievement. Learning achievement in English subjects in group used TPS method with high learning motivation has the highest average value, while group with conventional method with low learning motivation has lowest average value. Keywords: Think Pair Share.
