Abstract

ABSTRACTThe journal is titled Effectiveness of Use of Mobile Dictionary for Mobile Based Learning Media against Reading Learning Subject for Chinese Language Education Student at Christian University of Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of mobile dictionary as a learning media in the reading subject. This research uses survey method with qualitative and quantitative approach, and has descriptive nature. Data collection techniques used are interviews and surveys. The discussion is analyzed by interpretation of interview result by reading study subjects and a student. In addition, an analysis of the questionnaires was distributed to Chinese Language Education Student at Christian University of Indonesia. The results showed that mobile dictionary can serve as a medium of mobile learning due to the features that are quite helpful for students in following the learning of reading. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the level of effectiveness of mobile dictionary usage as a learning medium in the classified as good reading.Keywords: Mobile dictionary, learning media, Mobile learning, Reading subject ABSTRAKJurnal ini berjudul Efektivitas Penggunaan Mobile Dictionary Sebagai Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Mobile Learning Terhadap Pembelajaran Mata Kuliah Membaca Bagi Mahasiswa S1 Pendidikan Bahasa Mandarin Universitas Kristen Indonesia. Tujuan dari dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas penggunaan mobile dictionary sebagai media pembelajaran dalam mata kuliah membaca. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian berbentuk survey dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif, serta memiliki sifat deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adala wawancara dan survey. Pembahasannya dianalisis dengan cara interpretasi hasil wawancara yang dilakukan dengan pengajara mata kuliah membaca dan seorang mahasiswa. Selain itu juga dilakukan analisis terhadap kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada mahasiswa Pendidikn Bahasa Mandarin Universits Kristen Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mobile dictionary dapat berfungsi sebagai media mobile learning dikarenakan adanya fitur-fitur yang cukup membantu mahasiswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran membaca. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner, tingkat efektivitas penggunaan mobile dictionary sebagai media pembelajaran dalam mata kuliah membaca tergolong baik.Kata Kunci: Efektivitas, Mobile dictionary , Media pembelajaran, Mobile learning, Mata kuliah membaca

Abstract

This activity took place at 163 Junior High School which located at Jl. Empang Tiga, RT.8/RW.2, Pejaten Timur, Kec. Ps.Minggu, City of South Jakarta, Capital Region of Jakarta 12510. This activity was carried out online using the Zoom application. it was held for four weeks starting on November 13 to December 4, 2021, one meeting each week -which aims to introduce Mandarin language -and to provide knowledge to the participants. The method used in this activity is based on theory as well as practice, like classroom action research using 4 stages, which are namely planning, implementation, reflection and reporting. The results obtained from this activity are that students can recognize basic Mandarin, understand Chinese vocabulary and simple conversations, such as introducing them selves using Mandarin. In this activity the participants were very enthusiastic and the results obtained were that participants were able to know What are initials and finals in Mandarin nderstand how to say and use simple sentences, like greetings and introduce themselves in Mandarin with proper pronunciation
