Abstract

Crop growth and production on particular land and climate is strongly influenced by the interaction between plants, climate, soil, and management. Land quality and climate greatly affect the expected production of oil palm are: soil type, soil depth, altitude, soil pH, rainfall / year, average temperature, water deficit in mm / yr, air humidity, and solar radiation. Oil palm production as a function of land quality and climate can be predicted using various methods. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is one recognized method for predict land productivity. In this study ANN Back propagation algorithm is used. The aim of this research is to develop ANN model and simulation of Oil Palm Plantation Productivity. Through the optimization procedure obtained the best ANN architecture is 11 neurons in input layer - 3 neurons in the hidden layer and - 1 neuron in the output layer, at 30,000 iterations of training step obtained the best model of oil palm productivity prediction with a value of R2: 0.98 and RMSE: 0:49, while from the test step obtains the value of R2: 0.94 and RMSE: 1.63. The results of simulation show that the simultaneous influence of several climatic changes that decrease the quantity of rainfall 100 mm / yr, 1 0C temperature rise, and increasing water deficit 50 mm / yr reduce the productivity of oil palm plantations for 2.15 tons / ha / year. From this research can be concluded that ANN can be used to predict the production of palm oil based on quality of land and local climate with very good results.

Abstract

Solute transport in porous medium is affected by two parameters i.e : 1) average velocity of solute particle, and 2) solute dispersion. Theoretically, the solute transport can be describes by Convective Dispersion Equation, when the methods to determine D in this paper we present a modified method of inverse problem to calculate D. The results indicated that the inverse problem much or less matched with the analytical solution.

Abstract

This paper describes an application of n~rmerical method of finilsdzflerence for predicting the distribution of volumetric water (8) and water potential (v by using diffusity and conductivity approach. The result of current study showed that the parameters, volumetric water and water potential, correlated reversely. The trend of application of numerical method was similar to that of exact method. The simulation of parameters was not signiJcant. The reliability of models is still needed to test emperically.

Abstract

The successful application of pitcher irrigation system has motivated to investigate the pitcher as a fetigation system. The experiment was conducted at Leuwikopo Experiment Station, Agricultural Engineering Departemen, Bogor Agricultural University. The main objective of this study is to study the effectiveness of pitcher fertigation system on bushes pepper crops. The result shows that the pitcher wall is capable to release NPK solution. Diffusion rate of fertilizer solution was measured as affected by the concentration inside and outside of the pitcher. The soil moisture distribution in the soil is sufficient to transfor the solution available for crops development. Concentration of Phosphate (P) and Potassium (K) decrease laterally and the Nitrogen (N) tends to accumulate homogeneously in moist part around the pitcher.

Abstract

Palawija is still used as secondary food in Indonesia. Some of palawija crops were source of the carbohydrate, and the others like a peanut and soybean are source of protein. The common palawija crops grown on upland area are soybean, peanut, green pea, and corn. The major constrains on development of upland area for agriculture purpose was water scarcity and availability data of crops water requirement. The objective of the research was to develop the crop growth and water use modeling, determining the transpiration coefficient and crop water requirement of upland crops.

Abstract

Abstract The objective of this research is to determine organic matter content in soil using image processing and artificial neural network. The images of soil were captured using digital camera and processed using image process algorithm. The images parameter data i.e. red, green, blue, hue, saturation, intensity, mean, entropy, energy, contrast, and homogeneity were extracted from sixty soil sample with different organic matter content. Parameter images data were used as the inputs data for ANN analysis. Output layer of ANN is organic matter content in soil. Based on experiment found that application of image processing and ANN for predicting organic matter content in soil have the high accuracy with coefficient determination of  90.75 % and mean square error (MSE) of 0.002762. Keywords : soil organic matter, images process, artificial neural network Abastrak Tujuan penelitian adalah menentukan kadar bahan organik dalam tanah menggunakan pengolahan citra digital dan jaringan syaraf tiruan. Citra tanah diambil menggunakan sebuah camera digital dan diolah menggunakan algoritma pengolahan citra. Parameter citra yang digunakan adalah : red, green, blue, saturasi, intensitas, rerata, entropi, energi, kontras, dan homogenitas diambil dari 60 contoh tanah dengan kadar bahan organik yang berbeda. Parameter citra tersebut digunakan sebagai data masukan dalam analisis ANN., sebagai lapisan keluaran dari ANN adalah kadar bahan organik dalam tanah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis pengolahan citra dan ANN dapat digunakan untuk emprediksi kadar bahan organik dalam tanah dengan akurasi tinggi dengan kooefisien determinasi 90,75% dan MSE 0,002761. Abstract

Land evaluation for specific purpose in plantation sector become very important due to increasing the competition in land use and the development of plantation sector. Land evaluation produces information of land economic values for specific land use. The objective of the research is to develop land evaluation method for cocoa estate using integrated model Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Geographical Information System (GIS). Back propagation ANN model were used to predict cocoa yield base on land qualities parameter. The result shows that the best of ANN model to predict cocoa yield have 15 input layer, 15 hidden layer, and 1 output layer. with the determination coefficient (r2) of 0.99 and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 93.83 in the training process, otherwise in the testing found the r2of O. 76 and RMSE of 113.83. In verification stage the integrated model ofANN and GIS was used to evaluate land suitability of Wijayaarga Cocoa Plantation is seem accurate in predicting cocoa yield and easers to mapping the land suitability unit. Abstract

Farmers in Umbulrejo Village in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta are facing difficulties pumping water for their agriculture due to low electrical power availability. One alternative is to use solar-powered pumps, but this causes environmental problems and higher production costs. The Faculty of Agricultural Technology INSTIPER Yogyakarta is working with PT. Virama Karya to introduce the Clean Water and Irrigation Program for Umbulrejo Village Farmers, which includes planning, construction, operation, and monitoring of a ground water irrigation system with solar-powered pumps. The program's implementation is planned for 4 years and will include the construction of wells, water tanks, solar power plants, irrigation networks, and maintenance of the system. After 4 years, the village will own the system with guidance from the Stiper Agricultural Institute of Yogyakarta. Abstrak Petani di Desa Umbulrejo di Kabupaten Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta mengalami kesulitan memompa air untuk budidaya pertanian mereka karena ketersediaan tenaga listrik yang rendah. Salah satu alternatifnya adalah menggunakan pompa berbahan bakar solar, tetapi ini menimbulkan masalah lingkungan dan biaya produksi yang lebih tinggi. Fakultas Teknologi Pertanian INSTIPER Yogyakarta bekerja sama dengan Persero PT. Virama Karya untuk memperkenalkan program Penyediaan Air Bersih dan Air Irigasi untuk Petani Desa Umbulrejo yang mencakup perencanaan, pembangunan, operasional, dan monitoring sistem irigasi air tanah dengan pompa air tenaga surya. Pelaksanaan program direncanakan untuk 4 tahun dan akan mencakup pembangunan sumur, tandon air, pembangkit listrik tenaga surya, jaringan irigasi, dan pemeliharaan sistem. Desa akan menjadi pemilik sistem setelah 4 tahun dengan pendampingan dari Institut Pertanian Stiper Yogyakarta.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the needs of agricultural machinery in rice farming through direct surveys and integrated Planting calendar information systems. This research was conducted in July-September 2020 in Boalemo Regency.   The number of respondents in the study was 54 farmers. Based on the study's results, it is known that agricultural machinery is very necessary. This is stated by 91% of respondents stating they always use agricultural machinery in their farming business. Agricultural machinery, hand tractors, power theresors, and combine harvesters are included in the high category that farmers often use with percentages of 9,  8.15%, 85.19%, and 72.22%. Rice transplanters are still in the low category 40.74%, due to small land ownership and lack of socialization. The use of agricultural machinery can save costs, reduce labour, and speed up work. Based on the calculation of the adequacy status of the hand tractor, rice transplanter, and power thereser is appropriate. However, in the  combine harvester there is a difference in a calculation, manually, the status is less, and in the interactive application the status is saturated. This is due to differences in available tools, and delays in updating data on the planting calendar. So it is necessary to regularly input and repair existing data on the word. Analysis of the B/C ratio of hand tractor, rice transplanter and power thereser is 1. 0, will the business of agricultural machinery is profitable and feasible. While the combine harvester value B/C ratio 1. 0, the exploitation of agricultural machinery is detrimental and not feasible.
