Abstract

There are many religious activities among the villagers of Mayangan, such as the reading of the Qur’ān at mosques held once a month. Generally, it's done on Thursday before Friday Legi night and is followed by teens from different educational backgrounds. The purpose of this study is to describe the differences between youth education backgrounds and the capablity to read al-Qur’ān in Murong village. This type of research is quantitative. The research instrument used is documentation, observation, questionnaire and interview. Data analysis using quantitative descriptive method. The population of this study were teenagers in Murong village as many as 150 individuals with a sample of 30% of the population, ie 150 individuals with sampling technique using proportional random sampling. The conclusion of the study is that the capability to read al-Qur’ān = 18,011 + 0,412 for adolescents who have educational background. That is, the educational background is worth 0 (teenagers who do not have educational background), then the reading capability of al-Qur’ān ranges from 18,011.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze, identify, and examine in depth the educational values ​​of Sufism Akhlaki contained in the biographical novel “Surat Cinta Para Sufi” by Mohamad Fathollah. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach and content analysis. Data were collected through careful reading of the novel text, identifying parts relevant to the concept of Sufism Akhlaki, and classifying them based on predetermined educational value categories. The results of this study indicate that the novel “Surat Cinta Para Sufi” contains a variety of rich educational values ​​of Sufism Akhlaki, including aspects such as mahabbah (divine love), zuhud (simplicity and not being tied to the world), mujahadah an-nafs (fighting lust), gratitude, tawakal, muhasabah (self-introspection), and the importance of the guidance of the mursyid. Sufi thought reflects Sufism Akhlaki which emphasizes the formation of the soul through the values ​​of divine love, patience, and sincerity. Sufi thought is depicted between vertical dimensions (relationship with God) and horizontal dimensions (relationships with others). This is relevant to the problems of contemporary Islamic education, namely the moral crisis and the culture of luxurious living. The conclusion of this study is that the biographical novel "Love Letters of the Sufis" functions not only as a literary work but also as a relevant source of Sufism education for readers in cultivating spirituality, purifying the heart, and forming a perfect Islamic character.
