Abstract

Population growth that continues to increase every year has an effect on the increasing need for clean water to meet daily life. The availability of water sources that continue to run out due to being displaced by the human population every year needs serious attention. This is because the need for water covers almost all sectors of human life such as industry, tourism, agriculture, households, etc. Basically water quality can be influenced by several things such as environmental pollution, mineral content in water, and the presence of dissolved metals due to the distribution process. An increase in population is followed by an increase in some human activities that can cause water pollution. The high level of environmental pollution due to industrial waste results in a decrease in the quality of the springs. Indonesia is one of the countries that has abundant natural zeolite sources. The use of zeolites can be optimized as a solution in cases of water pollution or water quality improvement. In this research, we will study further about the ability of chemically activated natural zeolite to adsorb heavy metals in water. The sample water used in this study was taken from groundwater in the Cepu area which is predicted to have a high level of hardness. Natural zeolite was activated by acid using 2 M HCl solution. The structure of zeolite was analyzed using X-Ray Difraction (XRD), while the adsorption ability was analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). The results showed that the main mineral constituent of the natural zeolite used was modernite. Chemical activation is able to increase the active site in natural zeolite, it can be seen from the appearance of higher peaks in the modified zeolite.

Abstract

Based on the method of formation, zeolites can be divided into two types, namely natural zeolites and artificial zeolites. Natural zeolites are zeolites that are formed naturally due to natural changes or from volcanic rocks due to volcanic eruptions. Natural zeolite can be applied as an adsorption system after the activation process. Activation of natural zeolite can be done in several ways, namely by acid washing method, which is then referred to as chemical activation. In addition, hydrothermal treatment can also be used as an activation method for zeolite preparation. The hydrothermal method is a high temperature heating method to remove water content as well as impurities in the zeolite. In this study, chemical and physical activation processes will be carried out to increase the crystallinity of the zeolite. In its application, the zeolite adsorption process will be carried out on water samples. From the XRD data, the treatment or physical modification of natural zeolite was able to increase the crystallinity significantly. Prior to the modification of the XRD data at an angle measurement of 2θ : 10-90 deg, the peaks were quite sharp. The percentage result shows that the sample before the modification reached 81.87%. Washing with distilled water has been able to increase the level of crystallinity which is quite significant. In the modified zeolite with the same analysis, the percentage of crystallinity was 99.24%.

Abstract

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency, the average consumption of tofu per capita continues to increase. The annual production is estimated to reach more than 2.56 million tons every year from the total tofu industry of 84 thousand. The abundance of tofu liquid waste can be used as raw material for biogas production. Biogas is an efficient method that can be used as two alternatives at once, namely to prevent environmental pollution as well as an effort to create new and renewable energy. The main objective in this analysis is to find the ideal composition for tofu wastewater treatment using the anaerobic digestion method, in order to obtain optimum biogas production. In analyzing the level of effectiveness of the modification of the mixing of tofu waste raw materials with several other materials, normal condition data is used which is used as reference data in determining whether the modified conditions are more effective or not more effective in terms of the volume of biogas produced. There are 9 samples that use volume data as a comparison of data from one sample to another. Under normal conditions without modification, tofu liquid waste with a slurry volume of 75 L can produce a biogas volume of 4.36 L with a resulting pressure of 0.12 kg/m2. From some of the data compared, the raw materials from tofu liquid waste are added with cow dung, vinasse, rumen, and yeast waste. Based on the comparison of the results of biogas produced, it can be said that the addition of cow rumen is more effective than other modifications because it increases biogas productivity by approximately 26%, and with the addition of cow rumen it can increase productivity by approximately 41%.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu Negara yang menganut sistem Pendidikan Nasional, yaitu sistem pendidikan berjenjang yang masing-masing memiliki orientasi sesuai dengan tahapannya. Beberapa hal yang menjadi faktor keberhasilan dalam pendidkan anak usia dini adalah metode pembelajaran, tenaga pendidik, dan juga media pembelajaran yang digunakan. Tingkat keberhasilan dapat diukur dari apakah kemampuan peserta didik meningkat atau tidak. Kemampuan anak usia dini dapat dilihat dari kemampuan motrik kasar, motoric halus, dan juga kemampuan kognitif anak. Dari hasil survei lapangan, diketaui bahwa media pembalajaran di TK Budi Mulya masih bersifat konvensional dan belum terdapat media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi untuk menstimulasi kemampuan anak. Tujuan pada pengebadian masyarakat ini adalah mengenalkan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang interaktif pada TK Budi Mulya sehingga mampu menunjang suasana belajar yang menyenangkan. Media pembelajaran pada pengabdian ini menampilkan nama-nama alat transportasi yang menggabungkan media gambar dan suara menggunakan Arduino Uno. Berdasarkan pengujian alat, media pembelajaran berfungsi dengan baik, yaitu mampu merespon gerakan apabila sensor disentuh oleh anak-anak dan akan menghasilkan suara nama-nama alat transportasi. Dari kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan, dengan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran tersebut dapat meningkatkan antusias siswa dalam belajar mengenal alat transportasi.
