<![CDATA[Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahuipengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis di SMP Negeri 1 Bulok Kabupaten Tanggamus. Untuk mengukur ketercapaian tujuan dengan cara membandingkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dengan pendekatan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional. Jenis penelitian adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain Pretest-Posttest control group design.  Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 1 Bulok Kabupaten Tanggamus .sebanyak 119 siswa yang terdiri dari 4 kelas, dengan rincian kelas VIII-A sebanyak 29orang, kelas VIII-Bsebanyak 30orang,VIII-Csebanyak 30orang, kelas VIII-Dsebanyak 30.sampeldalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-Csebagai kelas ekperimen dan siswa kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol konvensional, yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling, dengan pertimbangan bahwa kedua kelas tersebut mempunyai tingkat kemampuan  yang relatif sama. Instrumen dalam penelitian berupa soal  berbentuk essay sebanyak5butir untuk mendaÂpatkan datakemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran. Hasil analisis data diperoleh: (1) Rrata-rata peningkatan kempuan pemecahan masalah pada kelas ekperimen sudah mencapai katagori tinggi yaitu sebesar 0,70 sedangknan pada kelas kontrol rata-rata peningkatan belajar hanya 0, 56 pada katagori sedang. (2) Rata-rata peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pendekatan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing lebih dari siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian pendekatan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP. Kata kunci: Inkuiri Terbimbing, Pengaruh, Pemecahanmasalah matematis.  ABSTRACT  The purpose of this study was to know the influence of supervised enquiry instructional approach on mathematical problem-solving ability of Bulok Tanggamus Public Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 1. To compare the achievement of the students mathematical problem solving ability by using  supervised enquiry with the students using conventional instructional approaches. The type of the study was quasi-experimental with pretest â posttest-control group design. The population were students of eighth grade at SMP Negeri 1 Bulok Tanggamus. There were 119 students which consist of 4 classes, with 29 students from class VIII-A, 30 students from class VIII-B, 30 students from VIII-C, and 30 students from VIII-D. The samples in this study were students of class VIII-C as the experimental class and the students of class VIII-B as the conventional control class, which were selected by purposive sampling technique, with the consideration that the two classes have about the same level of ability. The instrument of this study was a 5 items test in essay form. It was designed to measure studentâs ability before and after the instructional process. The result were as follows: (1) the average increase in problem solving ability in the experimental class had reached 0.70, meanwhile the average increase in the control class was only 0,56. (2) The average increase in mathematical problem-solving ability of students who learned with supervised enquiry instruction was better than students who learned with conventional instruction.
