Abstract

Kata kunci: FGD, Covid-19, Pakan Ikan, Formulasi ABSTRACT The high price of fish feed in the market has resulted in many fish farmers in the Alor district being unable to provide fish feed sustainably. The need for fish feed has so far only relied on supplies from outside through the assistance of the Alor Regency Marine and Fisheries Service. When there was a restriction on access due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the Alor district, it had resulted in the interruption of the supply chain for fish food from outside. On the other hand, fish cultivators in the Alor district do not have the understanding and skills in producing fish feed independently. In such conditions, community service activities need to be carried out in particular to improve the understanding and skills of fish cultivators. The method used in the community service was training in fish feed formulation through FGD and practice of making fish feed. The analysis showed that the participant’s level of understanding before attending the training was 58.43%, increasing to 79.76% after attending the training. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the combination of training methods in the form of FGDs and practical work has a positive impact on increasing participant’s understanding. In general, this training activity has increased participant’s understanding by increasing understanding by 21.33%. Keywords: FGD, covid-19, Fish Feed, Formulation

Abstract

Abstract

Bagan Apung fishing gear is one of the fishing gear that uses light as a tool in the fishing process. Floating Bagan fishing gear is a fishing gear that produces a high enough value for fishery production. The value of marine fishery production sometimes experiences instability which can be caused by several factors including oceanographic, weather or climate factors and the period of the moon phase. The research method used in this study was observation or following the fishing operation directly on Bagan Apung as many as 16 trips. Data analysis was carried out to see the effect of the catch on the moon phase using the t test and the BNT follow-up test. The composition of the catch shows that the crescent phase has a catch composition of 33% or with a total catch of 884 kg. The first bright spring moon phase with a catch composition of 17% or with a total catch of 454 kg, the full moon phase with a composition of 13% or with a total catch of 346 kg. The second semi-bright moon phase with a composition of 37% or with a total catch of 987 kg. The results of the t test and further test (BNT) showed that there was a moon phase on the catch of Bagan Apung.

Abstract

The zoning status of Bandar village waters as a sustainable fishing zone allows for high anthropogenic activity. That will impact environmental changes and ecological pressures in the structure of the macroalgae community. Macroalgae have a high species composition and abundance in tropical waters, but these species are also very vulnerable to environmental changes and ecological pressures. Scientific publication search results show that there has not been scientific study about the species composition, abundance, and ecological index of macroalgae in the waters of Bandar village. On the other hand, scientific studies are very important to be carried out to support the increase in the effective management of Marine Protected Areas based on village, customs, and religion. This study was designed to know the species composition and abundance and macroalgae ecological indices through analysis of ecological indexes and community structure approaches. This research was conducted in June 2023 in the waters of Bandar village, Alor district. The results showed that there were 14 types of macroalgae from 3 classes which were found with a composition of 5 types of classes Rhodophyceae, 4 types of classes Phaeophyceae, and 5 types of classes Chlorophyceae. The total number of macroalgae found was 1081 individuals. The type of macroalgae most commonly found is the type Laurencia papillosa (479 individuals) while the least found was the species Jania sp (2 individuals). The value of the total abundance of macroalgae (KT) = 131.03 individual/m2. The highest abundance of macroalgae types is Laurencia papillosa with a value (K) = 58.06 individuals/m2, while the lowest of its kind Jania sp with a value (K) = 0.24 individuals/m2. The highest relative abundance of macroalgae of its kind is Laurencia papillosa with a value (KR) = 44.31% while the lowest of the type is Jania sp with a value (KR) = 0.19%. The index value of macroalgae diversity (H') is 1.587907 and is in the medium category (1 ≤ H' ≤ 3). The index value of macroalgae uniformity (E) is 0.62040 and is in the high category (E > 0.6). The macroalgae dominance index value (C) is 0.289170 and is included in the low category (0 < C ≤ 0.50). Overall, the environmental parameters and bottom substrate of Bandar village waters are suitable for the growth and development of macroalgae.
