Abstract

This article describes the problem of temporal deixis in German and Indonesian. German as flexion-language has differences to Indonesian as inflexion-language. Researcher tried to explain about the form and function of deictic and non-deictic lexemes time in German and Indonesian. The analysis based on the standardized language in written data.The results showed some conclusions about the form and function of the time lexeme which are deictic and non-deictic in German and Indonesian. Lexemes can refer to the time before the moment of utterance, at a time of utterance, and the time after the utterance. Time lexemes also appear through tenses. German has three tenses, namely past tense, present tense and future tense. Time lexemes based on the rotation of the earth, such as the alternation of day into night is actually not deictic. But these lexeme can be deictic if joining the demonstrative pronouns, past markers, future marker, or symmetrical time lexeme.

Abstract

Artikel ini mendeskripsikan deiksis waktu dan deiksis ruang dalam Transkripte der Hörtexte buku ajar Netzwerk B1. Dalam belajar Bahasa Jerman, khususnya pada bagian menyimak atau Hörverstehen perlu adanya pemahaman tuturan oleh penutur maupun mitra tutur. Peneliti menganalisis leksem waktu dan leksem ruang yang termasuk deiksis maupun nondeiksis. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Levinson dengan metode penelitian bahasa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan dalam transkrip bagian Hörverstehen buku ajar Netzwerk B1 terdapat 136 leksem waktu yang merupakan deiksis waktu yang terdiri dari 6 macam deiksis waktu dan 1 macam leksem waktu sebagai non-deiktis. Leksem waktu berdasarkan perhitungan kalender termasuk bersifat deiktis jika digabungkan dengan pengubah deiktis. Sedangkan untuk deiksis ruang ditemukan 148 leksem. Dari leksem ruang yang ditemukan hanya terdapat 5 macam deiksis ruang. Leksem ruang berdasarkan arah dapat termasuk bersifat deiktis maupun non-deiktis.

Abstract

Code switching is used when a speaker switches language to another language. It usually occurs in a multilingual society. Code switching can be divided into two, namely internal code switching and external code switching. Not only code switching, there is also code mixing. Code mixing is used when a speaker mixes two languages at once in one discussion. Therefore, the researcher chose to conduct code switching and code mixing research in the film entitled Habibie & Ainun 3. The purpose of this study was to find SPEAKING-aspects from Hymes as well as code switching and code mixing in the film's dialogues. The method used is descriptive method. The results obtained 10 data consisting of 6 code-switching data, 1 code-mixing data, and 3 code switching and code mixing data. Keywords: code switching, code mixing, film, SPEAKING

Abstract

Foreign language is now a must in every level of education. People begin tolisten to foreign language and the try to master it. Listening is the languageskills that are closely related to the daily life of human beings. Listening is theprocess of accepting verbal symbols with caring, understanding, appreciation,and the interpretation of information, here we capture the content ormessages, as well as to understand the meaning of communication. Whilelistening to a foreign language we will hear how the language is spoken.Therefore, listening is a basic skill that must be mastered by learners inlearning a foreign language before speaking, reading and writing skills. But infact, the foreign language learners have difficulties in Listening. The TotalPhysical Response method can desirable overcome this problem.
