Abstract

This study aims to analyse social values based on local wisdom in folklore entitled “Pangeran Barasa”, therefore it can be used as a role model for local community and people Indonesian in general. This study applied structuralism approach. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques implemented reading and note-taking the dialogs, setting, and plot. Source of the primary data is “Pangeran Barasa” written by Nuraidar Agus and the secondary data were taken from other references which relevant to this research. The finding of this analysis there are some social values based on local wisdom in this folklore which categorized as love, responsibility and harmony of life. Love category includes dedication, helping each other, brotherhood, and loyalty. Responsibility includes of politeness, a sense of belonging, respect, and empathy. Last, life harmony category involves in equity and cooperation. Key Words: Social Value, Local Wisdom, Folklore

Abstract

This research aimed to explain the power of women as a good wife and mother to face many problems in their life. It applies psychological Maslow’s theory, who proposes five steps of Hierarchy of Needs covering Psychological Needs, Safety Needs, Belongingness and Love Needs, Esteem Needs, and Self-Actualization. This research used descriptive qualitative method which used to analysis and explained how the psychological theory was applied in literary work focused on character analysis in this novel. The data in this research were taken from the dialogue and narration of the novel. The finding of analysis indicates that there are four mothers struggling to fulfill their needs in life. They are Becky, Kelly, Ayinde, and Lia. Based on the novel, those of characters have a lot of problems in their life. Not only problems, as human they also have kind of needs. To analyze their needs, the researcher connected with Hierarchy of needs by Maslow and found that they can fulfill all the steps start from Psychological, Safety, Belongingness, Esteem, and the high step is Self-Actualization. In spite of they need struggling which is not easy. But from their intention, support from each other called sisterhood, and love form people around them, they can solve their problem and fulfilled their needs.

Abstract

Berdasarkan observasi awal, ditemukan fakta bahwa pengetahuan tentang folklore lokal pada siswa khusunya siswa SMP di Makassar sangatlah kurang. Mayoritas hanya mengetahui cerita rakyat yang berasal dari luar Sulawesi Selatan. Padahal ada banyak folklore dari Sulawesi Selatan yang menarik dan  sarat nilai-nilai moral didalamnya.  Berdasarkan pemikiran tersebut, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas media pembelajaran metode flash card model permainan kuartet  tehadap pengetahuan folklore Sulawesi Selatan dengan memperkenalkan judul dan unsur intrinsik beberapa folklore meliputi tokoh, setting, tema, dan amanat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah  observasi dan one group pretest-posttest design dengan total sampel 48 siswa SMP. Dari hasil hasil uji Wilcoxon (Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test) diperoleh hasil sebanyak 47 siswa (98%) hasil post-testnya lebih besar dari nilai pretest yang diperoleh sebelumnya, dan 1 siswa (2%) yang hasil post-test sama dengan pretestnya. Selanjutnya dengan melihat p-value 0.00, maka dimana p-value­ < 0,05 maka Ho ditolak sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara pengetahuan tentang folklore sebelum (pre-test) dan sesudah (post-test) bermain falsh card folklore Sulawesi Selatan model permainan kuartet.
