Abstract

Abstract. Coconut tree is a plant that has many benefits, almost all parts can be utilized by  humans so it is considered a multifunctional plant. Coconut is one of the strategic commodities that has become a national flagship. Coconut trees are seen as sustainable resources that can influence all aspects of people's lives. One of the processed coconut products which has many benefits is Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) or known by other names as virgin coconut oil or virgin oil which has many benefits in the health and beauty sector, besides that it can also be marketed to improve the economy. Bulo Wattang village has a large amount of coconut resources that can be used as a preventive measure to maintain health, care for beauty and improve the economy of the community. The training method used in community service is the demonstration method. The training is conducted by giving lectures, demonstrations, and discussions. This method is very effective because it is easier to deliver the material so that participants more easily understand the training material. VCO making training activities carried out smoothly in the village of Bulo Wattang. The VCO making training activity was attended by three Women Farmers Groups, students of the University of Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang KKN and hamlet instruments in the village of Bulo Wattang. The trainees participated in the activity with enthusiasm and wanted the continuity of the training to the education stage of the packaging and marketing of training products. After the training activities were carried out, the results obtained from the Three Farmers' Women's Groups who conducted VCO making training for use in the health and beauty sector, around 90% of the training activities were obtained until completion and obtained the results of VCO products. However, of the three Peasant Women's Groups present, only one Peasant Women's Group succeeded in making and selling their own products in the Villages around Bulo Wattang Village.   Abstrak. Pohon kelapa merupakan tumbuhan yang memiliki banyak manfaat, hampir semua bagiannya dapat dimanfaatkan oleh manusia sehingga dianggap sebagai tumbuhan serbaguna. Kelapa merupakan salah satu komoditas strategis yang menjadi unggulan nasional. Pohon kelapa dipandang sebagai sumberdaya berkelanjutan yang dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap segala aspek kehidupan masyarakat. Salah satu hasil olahan kelapa yang memiliki banyak manfaat yaitu Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) atau dikenal dengan nama lain minyak kelapa murni atau minyak perawan yang memiliki banyak manfaat dalam bidang kesehatan dan kecantikan, disamping itu dapat juga dipasarkan untuk meningkatkan taraf perekonomian. Desa Bulo Wattang memiliki sumberdaya kelapa cukup besar yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai tindakan preventif  untuk menjaga kesehatan, merawat kecantikan dan meningkatkan taraf perekonomian masyarakat. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah dengan memberikan ceramah, demonstrasi, dan diskusi. Metode ini sangat efektif karena lebih mudah untuk menyampaikan materi sehingga peserta lebih mudah memahami materi pelatihan. Kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan VCO dilaksanakan dengan lancar di Desa Bulo Wattang. Kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan VCO dihadiri oleh tiga Kelompok Wanita Tani, mahasiswa KKN Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang dan perangkat-perangkat dusun di Desa Bulo Wattang. Peserta pelatihan mengikuti kegiatan dengan antusias dan menginginkan adanya keberlanjutannya pelatihan hingga pada tahap edukasi pengemasan dan pemasaran produk hasil pelatihan. Setelah kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa Dari tiga Kelompok Wanita Tani yang menghadiri pelatihan pembuatan VCO untuk digunakan dalam bidang kesehatan dan kecantikan, sekitar 90% berhasil mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan hingga selesai dan memperoleh hasil sebuah produk VCO. Namun dari tiga Kelompok Wanita Tani yang hadir, hanya satu Kelompok Wanita Tani yang berhasil membuat dan menghasilkan produk sendiri serta memasarkannya di Desa-Desa sekitar Desa Bulo Wattang.

Abstract

The application of the principles of good governance is not only limited to ministries and government agencies or central and regional government levels. The application of good governance needs to be extended to non-governmental social institutions such as children's social welfare institutions. Sejati  Orphanage of Muhammadiyah Rappang is one of the social welfare institutions of children in South Sulawesi, founded by H. ismail Ambo Mariama since 1950 as a form of social concern for the massacre known as the 40,000 victims in December 1949 in South Sulawesi. This research  aims to determine the level of participation and application of the principles of good governance in the orphanage. This research uses quantitative descriptive method by describing the two variables using the Likert scale and examining the relationship between the two variables using linear regression analysis. Samples is 30 was taken from 150 populations. The results show that the level of participation and application of the principles of good governance are included in the excellent category. While the level of participation influences 42.2 percent of the application of the principles of good governance. This shows that the application of the principles of good governance in social institutions is easier compared to other institutions.
