Abstract

Abstract: This research was motivated by a phenomenon that emerged based on a pre-survey conducted by previous researchers at the end of July 2020 among students of the Riau University Pancasila and Cultural Education (PPKn) study program. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the students' perceptions of the effectiveness of online learning as a substitute for face-to-face lectures in the Riau University PPKn study program. The purpose of this study was to determine how students' perceptions of the effectiveness of online learning as a substitute for face-to-face lectures in the Riau University PPKn study program. This research method is descriptive quantitative, data collection instruments used are questionnaires and interviews virtually consisting of 30 questions with 7 indicators. The population in this study were all Riau University PPKn students from the 2020, 2019 and 2018 batches, totaling 222 people. The sample in this study was taken using the Slovin formula and sampling using a simple random sample. Based on the results of research conducted under the title "The Study of Student Perceptions of the Effectiveness of Online Learning as a Substitute for Face-to-Face Lectures at the Riau University PPKn Study Program" it can be concluded that: student perceptions of the effectiveness of online learning as a substitute for face-to-face lectures in the PPKn study program Riau University is in the Good or Effective category, this is evidenced by the recapitulation results obtained at 8.34% + 56.8% = 64.42%, which is in the range (50.01% - 75%) which is in the "Good" level.Key Words: Perception, Effectiveness, Learning, Daring
